a) the TV Out is always active at the moment (drains 80-90mA)
B) the system currently ALWAYS runs with full power (2* 200MHz processor power)
c) the backlight being too bright (which also causes ugly grey instead of black).
The rom loading crashes also come from the faulty SD Card driver.
At the moment, loading LARGE files can cause the driver to crash.
Farting loudly next to the device can cause the sd driver to crash. Nothing to do with loading large files from what I can see. In fact I've even seen it crash when no files were being loaded at all (although there's no telling what linux may have been doing in the background). Usually the first sign it's gone is a load of CMD13 errors flying up a console screen (if you connect to it with a serial cable) which can sometimes happen several minutes before you actually notice the problem on the gp2x (like when you try and load a rom or something).
