Its been a year now since I got the GP2X , played with it, run apps with it so im pretty much know the small unit well roundedly. Well I wanted to input a little bit about this handheld to a public access channel that my neighborhood has. But one problem is showing off the emulation part of it, for example I own the game but for another platform.

Quick Example:

I own marvel vs capcom for the dreamcast but I dont own a CPS2 mobo & the game.

I own Metal Slug 1 through 5 for xbox 1 but I dont own the MVS carts.

I own sega mega collection but I dont have those games for the genesis nor do I own one anymore.

You think people would come banging on my door if I show this off and say I own the original games for a different platform or it wouldnt matter really?

Checkout the German TV show mentioned here http://www.gp32x.de/board/index.php?showtopic=35174 This is the famous appearance of Evil Dragon from gp32x.de (and these boards).

This show might give you other ideas for yours and could you please upload yours (when taped) to YouTube if possible? I'd love to see it. :)

InDigital has a fairly well done video review on the GP2X:

http://revision3.com/indigital/2006-09-26

Their only complaint about the GP2X (crashing) could have been easily solved through the use of the correct type of batteries, as discussed here:

http://revision3.com/forum/showthread.php?...;highlight=gp2x

There's another video review here:

http://dl.tv/2006/12/episode_122_patricks_out_roger_2.php

Neither of these were very extensive (or knowledgeable) reviews, especially the second, but any exposure at all for the GP2X is a "good thing."

As far as I'm aware (regarding roms) you are allowed to use roms of the ones that you don't own ie the original game for 24 hours, although I don't know how far wide (globally) this 'law' is supposed to be

As I understand it, there is no such 'law' - not in the US, at least. Iirc, some lawyer put it down to various sites freely offering ROMs for download wanting to have some illusion of legitimacy, for which reason they invented this rule.

A lot of ROMs are regarded as abandonware, though, and in general, I've never heard of anyone being prosecuted for downloading ROMs for non-profit, personal use.

Oh, and I don't really care about copyrights anyway, it doesn't concern me. I'm more likely to die in a plane crash than to have authorities knocking on my door. I pay those I feel have made a game worth paying for.

..not hereby implying that I'm breaking any kind of copyrights, of course. ^^
