Heyo,
I've been trying to find some documentation on the different Gameboy emulators, but I'm pretty stuck.

I know that fGB32 has problems with saves, which is kind of a turn off for using it, but the other gameboy emulators don't have readmes or aren't very helpful.

Which gameboy emulator would you recommend?

Are there any compatibility lists for any of them?

ThanX and BYEEEEE!!

I don't think I've ever had any problems with fGB32 other than it's sometimes unpredictable speed. I certainly wouldn't be totally put off using it without trying it first.

FGB32 is the best (IMO)
To avoid saving troubles, don't put/delete roms when you have done the first scaning.

Put fGB and GPvGB on your SMC. I use GPvGB for games that work with it, since it haas no problem with saves and has better speed on some games. The compatibility isn't as good as fGB, so I use that for any games which won't work on GPvGB.

a new GB emu would be a great super-surprise entry for a competition.
there are so many good GB games, if there only would be an emu in the quality of LittleJohn, DrMD or GPEngine.....

fGB was a decent emu. I hope that one day Rlyeh will update it. There are only a few issues from keeping it from being perfect. Maybe he could put in Reesy's ASM Z80 core to speed it up.

pardon?

the big problem is the vertical syncronization. games like Final Fantasy or even every platformer is unplayable, because if you walk horizontally, the upper part of the screen is much faster than the lower part.
but thats a problem with all emus of the f-series.

fGen has this problem as well, DrMD for example not.
i don't know why....

Here is an explanation of the save problem.

This is a current problem with the f series of emulators on the GP32 (e.g. fGB, fSMS, etc).

Losing saves is not a random issue, it happens for a reason and it very easy to figure out. The saves get a seemingly random name partly based on what number they are in the alphabetic order of roms on your SMC, if that order changes, the save is lost (or not actually lost, it is still there but won't be used). So what happens is that if you get a new game and put it in your gb directory (let's use castlevania as an example), all games with the letter C and lower will lose it saves, the same thing will happen if you delete a game.

Your saves haven't really been deleted, they just need to be renamed.

I've got a problem with fGB32 and fGB32d....

When I run either it says that it has scanned the ROMs correctly and then just freezes?

Any suggestions?
