Ok, Im playing a film on GPCinema and sometimes funny Square blocks appear while its playing... What is causing this ??? Is there a setting in Virtual Dub that I can click and it will stop this happening ??

Thanks

These are called macroblocks and are a side-effect of the compression. Higher bitrates smooth out this effect but of course need more diskspace...

When I encode it so the Vid is 8 FPS They go, but when encoded so the film is 12FPS they come back... hhmmm

Furthermore these blocks are specific to block based compression algorithms. Not every video compression has this artifact, for example you won't see this with VP6 codec or theora. But if you use MPEG1, 2, 4 or DivX they will always be there :(
