Just a little heads-up for those (like me) who didnt know yo could do this...

Up until last night i'd pretty much avoided the c64 emulator on the gp32 as it would fail to load many or most D64s i would feed it...While looking up SID chip info I stumbled across this D64 utility which allows you to extract .PRG files from D64s :

http://almighty.c64.org/d64editor.html

I gave it a go, and pretty much everything I have extracted from the disks loads (and plays) perfectly on frodo on the GP32. I am a very happy man :)

Only downside is that only sigle-load games will work using this method.

You can find a zip of most llamasoft .PRG files here if you want them : (these are ok to distribute now - before you flame me)

Have fun!

They have been released, by their rightfull owner? Just to be sure...

yes. jeff minter (llamasoft) owns these games and made them free to distribute years ago as he is a lovely guy.

here is his statement about it :

LLAMASOFT GAMES FOR EMULATOR USE
======================================

These game images may be distributed free of charge to anyone
who wants to use them on emulators. Please feel free
to carry them on emulator sites or whatever. Llamasoft
feels that software old enough to be running on emulators
is not going to be exactly generating a huge amount of
revenue, and as such the images are considered by Llamasoft
to be in the public domain, and there will be *no* legal
hassles if your site carries the images.

Enjoy!

Not only that, but on his site Minter was for a while at least, offering some of the games himself and asking for submissions from people who had his games that he no longer had copies of.

Oh man...This is my dream come too

I'll give you a one time "make sweet love to Captainbubby" coupon :)

ps. The coupon isn't real, sorry!

I've managed to convert one d64 to prg but how do I convert multiple prg's (within d64) to one file?

:)
