It may be a problem with the batteries, it sounds like they are unable to deliver enough power to run the GP32 and the light. Try using a good brand of batteries or a AC adapter and see if the problem persists
that flashing is the telltale sign of the batteries getting low,you can turn off the light and it will work for a while longer but,like me,i'm sure you bought the FLU unit so you can have it running with the light on,so get yourself some new alkalines and you will be all set
