whats the best replacement firmware? i heard pacrom is good but not sure. also is there a way to put the regular gp32 firmware back? ive been thinking about this firmware thing but am not sure. any insight will be helpful.

Mr. Spiv's Multi-FW is the best, because it includes pac-rom, the original firmware, and an option to boot directly to windups. You can easily set a default and change it if needed.

Muti Fw.... If for some reason you want to go back to normal, just set default boot on Muti Fw to normal.... If you want 100% back w/ little logo at beggining (sp?) just reflash.... I am sure that everyone can tell that I am typing at midnight....

i think i did that. i named the old one fwold and the multi fw.bin but it still didnt go do i keep the fwold on the smc or just have the fw.bin on gp://

hmm try holding select as it boots up, it might be booting to original by default

Make sure that the one that you are flashing is FW.bin and it is in root, also don't tunr off the GP32 too soon, even thought if you did it would be 99.99% chance of not even booting. Did you press Start+Select+L+R then the progress thing came then it said "Flash done please reboot!!!"?? If all of this is right (the last answer should be yes) then try the pressing slect on boot :)

Im not sure...but I might flash my bios soon.
What progs do I need etc...

oh yeah, and do i have to reformat my smc when i do (cause im only 98% sure that i dont need to)

With regards to the Multi-Boot firmware (Windups)...

The only problem I seem to have with it is that I cannot play any of the commercial games any more...

I tried the demo of Pinball, and it doesn't work (And that's booting into the "original" bios)... Is this a known issue with the Multi-Boot firmware?

Other than that, it's brilliant! :D

I could always play commercial games, but I did have to choose to go into the original firmware first, windups itself doesn't support them. But, no problems from there with the commercial pinball dreams (not the demo) and dungeon & garder.

The comercial games only run off there own cards and so theres no use for windups. so if you have a flashed bios and it loads windups on start, it wont be able to load your windups settings as they would be on another card.

I'm going to try DL'ing the Bloody Cross demo, boot up with "Original Bios" option and see if I can get that to work - Maybe it's just the demo?

wellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
of course it could just be that the game doesn't recognise the firmware and doesn't want to boot
games can think you know

Blasted AI - I knew it was going to be trouble... Ever since the ZX81, I've been saying "There's going to be trouble"...

And behold, what happens??? They bring out Turok for the PS2, Cube and XBox - With AI so cunning, you just THINK they are standing there doing nothing while you empty 200 rounds into them... When actually they are playing Doom, so haven't noticed you creep up on them. (When I say creep, I mean that you've just destroyed about everything in a 100 yard radius - But hey!) It's only those creatures who didn't use duracell that are actually alert and attack you.

If you listen very carefully, you can here them yell out (Just before pegging it) "I HAVEN'T SAVED YET... Uggghhhh"...
