File Compression Woes...

I have the matrix (slightly letter boxed, but not completely in res) Been trying to convert it ALL DAY, and it's always over 128 MB, even after HEAVILY reducing the quality... And i'm using the divx 4.12 codec.... What do I do to make the movie fit and display properly, While having it at a nice watchable quality?

Get hold of the widescreen version and letterbox that... worked for Harry Potter 2 :) (I got all 3 hours of the thing into 90 megs - although this *was* in the days of moviepark, so files were somewhat smaller then as less framerate...

Check your frame rate and your sound quality. I can get about 100 minutes on a 128mb but I like my frame rate at about 15fps.

I usually set the frame rate at half (Skip every other frame, making for 15 FPS I guess) The movie is letter box, so Idon't know how to convert it without warping the display, or making the file size bigger (looking for smaller, definatly)

and the audio is all the way down to 24K mono, but it STILL refuses to crunch anymore in size... (and the two pass XVID keeps crashing VDUB on me...)

Mostly this one film.... X-men (300 MB) fit on there perfectly...

So it's kinda confuseing... (But, the x-men wasn't widescreened.)

Xmen wouldnt fit on a 128mb SMC at 300mb. Maybe it was 300 pre-compression.
I think thats what he means.

Google up AutoGordianKnot(autoGK)0.8 and down load that, you can specifiy the file size output and it works with Virtualdub.
