Well, here's the story. I was compiling something else when I noticed that it needed FFmpeg. That something else didn't quite work out right, but I was left with FFPlay. So, quick test on the GP2X, and it does actually run with some minor tweaks, albeit unwatchably slowly
This is due to the actual video hardware in the GP2X not actually being used at all. Everything is done on the first processor with paeryn's HW accelerated libs. When GPH release their mplayer source, I'll have a go at moving the video decoding over to the 2nd processor. Can't promise anything, though.
It is, however, reasonably good at doing music on its own, and can support all sorts of formats, including WMA and that Playstation audio format. It'll also do video in RealPlayer versions 1.0 and 2.0, and WMV versions 7 and 8.
Basically, anything here will work, except those that require an extra package.
