My favorites :

Boihazard Battle
Raiden Trad
Sonic 2 (best of the series)
Cyborg Justice
Contra Hard Corps

I still have these games somewhere in my closet. Just mentioning these games make me want to play them again. Genesis was my favorite system compared to the SNES.
Nooo!!! Sonic 2's last boss may be the hardest but, Sonic 3 With sonic and knuckles attached byfar owns any MD sonic games ^.^

I mean Super Tails who doesnt love that cute lil fella? Let alone Hyper Sonic and Hyper Knuckles!

I had to register just to toss out this classic:

Herzog Zwei!

Granddaddy of RTS/Action hybrids everywhere. By far my favorite Genesis game.

I can't believe that my No. 1 game hasn't been mentioned yet... a classic...

1. RoboCop Vs. The Terminator
2. Golden Axe
3. Revenge Of Shinobi
4. Spider-Man Vs. The Kingpin
5. Shinobi III - Revenge Of The Ninja Master
6. Mortal Kombat II (with the 6-button pad, of course)
7. Truxton (a.k.a. Tatsujin)
8. Rambo III
9. MoonWalker
10. Altered Beast

I was more of a NES guy but here are a few that spring to mind (in some sort of order):
Fantastic Dizzy (A must play)
Sonic 2
Road Rash 2 (I wasted years playing this)
Beavis and Butthead
Aladdin
Earthworm Jim
Cool Spot

A few other games that are worth checking out:
ECCO - The Tides of Time
Mick & Mack as the Global Gladiators (it might be a McDonalds game, but it still kicks ass)
James Pond (1 and 2)
Combat Cars
Zool
T2 - The Arcade Game

Has nobody played Toejam and Earl? Someone's gotta find a way to play this two player!

Along with Toejam,

Castle of Illusion
Gunstar Heroes
Revenge of Shinobi
all the Sega arcade ports.

I got so good at that game playing against a buddy that he eventually just gave up. I was the king of the wrap around.

In our no goalie games I would regularly get the scoreboard into letters and punctuation marks. I don't remember it ever turning over, but maybe that's just me.

Jeeze, no one mentioned Pirates! Gold or Dynamite Headdy!
The horror! The horror of it! Those two alone can take up
a significant portion of ones life! Really, I'll take those two
over 50 Sega beat em' ups.

Nobody has mentioned Twin Cobra, that's a fantastic game!

Here's a big high-five ( o/\o ) to all the Thunder Force fans, personally I prefer III to IV. As much of a Street Fighter fanboy that I am, I just can't bring myself to play the nasty Mega Drive version, no matter how well it's emulated. :(

Finally someone mentioned Earthworm Jim, that was one of the first REALLY good platformers for the 16-bit consoles that didn't star a fat plumber.

I also have to vote for Shining Force I and II, Herzog Zwei, Space Harrier II and Shadow Warrior.
