Hey all,
Hopefully this is a the right place to bring this up so here it goes
I have been dying for a Pandora since I stumbled on the openpandora website roughly a year ago. I was never sure if I'd ever have the chance of owning one and then I saw my chance on ebay. The seller was from the UK and I'm all the way over in Canada. It was the only auction that had the ability to "buy it now" but shipping to Canada was not available. I was fortunate enough to reach out to a colleague of mine in the UK who is also a gadget geek and he was able to snipe the pandora for me and have it initially shipped to him. We worked out the payment details behind the scenes and agreed to have it shipped to me afterwards via Royal mail using international signed for. And that's where everything went wrong.
The package actually arrived in Canada within 3 days but sat with customs for about 2 weeks. I later found out that the adhesive labels with the return address fell off during the shipping process. Canada customs immediately sends back packages if there's no visible return address. So my sweet sweet pandora got sent back to the UK and sat in the national returns center...yet again....for weeks. For the longest time I had no idea what the hold up was and I was obviously getting anxious. So fast forward to about 2 weeks ago when I heard that they established what address to send the item back to and that it could take up to 15 business days before it'd make it back to my colleague. PLUS its being sent back via regular postal service.
Here's my dilemma, I really dont want to file a claim for the value of the pandora because I want my toy and it will be EXTREMELY difficult to find another opportunity to get one.
Has anyone else had this kind of experience with Royal mail? if so, what was the outcome? Am I screwed and is there a glimmer of hope that I will see my coveted pandora **angels singing**
Hopefully this is a the right place to bring this up so here it goes
