In fact Germany still exports energy. Sure some energy is bought in France (made from nuclear plants) but that's just how the spot market works, as electricity is traded at a "stock exchange". The next day/minute/second it is vice versa. But as energy from renewable resources is increasing rapidly the share will grow from the 23% in 2012.
BTW I am really amazed how a japanese citizen considers atomic energy to be safe, green and unlimited after Fukushima.
In my opinion it's worth to save every quantum of energy one can to get rid of dangerous (nuclear) or environment polluting (gas, coal, nuclear) power plants!
