I love the ebook programs for gp32 already, but I'm really lazy, so it would be nice to have a program that reads the ebook to you, like with a voice and all that cool stuff
Well... not everything is available as an audio book.
That said, most voice-synthesis stuff that reads text without needing to be parsed sounds shat... on the basis of you can't really have a robotic voice reading
"I-LOVE-YOU-SHE-SAID". HE-RE-PLIED-"I-LOVE-YOU-TOO" etc.
It'd work if you were reading something by stephen hawking, but there are some quite sophisticated text readers on the net, there was one on a website, i think it was bored.com, that gave accurate human sounding speech so it can be THAT hard if it is being used for novelty purposes like that.
You know when you laugh at something then stop and say "that's a bit non P'C', maybe i shouldn't" then just burst out laughing again....this was one of thse times.
Hmmm, from speech sythesizer to stephen hawking, so why not to quantum mechanics and time travel now? Actually, from my predictions with all this quantum mess, I think that it would be very possible to make a speech synthesizer that could read a .txt file understandably, but of course not very humanly.
