However; I am a bit dubious about trying this on my GP32, I think replacing a fried processor in a GP32 might be slightly harder than replacing an athlon chip on a mobo!!

I left it off for a couple of seconds incase of heat, Then switched it back on the red light on the top of the GP lit up, But there was no response from the screen (stays blank with no light).
I`ve just been given an idea from a friend that i should have a go at removing the pencil from the resistor and see if she powers up. I can not try that at the moment as i am at work, But will try it when i get home this evening and post what happens.
Fingers crossed.

Oddly enough, the same thing happened to me when I first tried to overclock! Turns out it drained my batteries which were not fully charged I hope this is the case. Good luck.

How many dead gp32's do you have?
And what was the dumbest action why a gp32 died?
Too much heat would kill your ARM9. But it is impossible that the puny voltage of 2 1.5V Batteries heat your CPU up so much. There´s gotta be another reason.Squidge posted on Apr 18 2005 at 02:44 PM said:However, what is guaranteed to kill it is too much heat and overvoltage - apply too much and regardless of speed, it'll eventually pop. It could last for an hour or so before going pop. You can normally tell its going to do so however as it'll get very hot first. Different batches of processors will naturally be able to withstand different amounts of voltages (and of course, different maximum speeds at those voltages).
