Dvd To Avi Guide.

I intend to use my DVDs that I have bought however I see fit. While this may not include trading files or any form of advocating piracy, if transcoding files to be watched on my GP32 is illegal, I don't care about the law.

I agree.

Anywho, i used that virtuaDub mod to convert the movie and the audio worked. problem now is that i have 3 .vob files all at different points in the movie. and i can't find any way to link them all together to have the full movie. anyone know how?
?? you must convert it to avi not .vob.

I believe he used the dvdshrink to decode the DVD to Vob and now wants to convert the vob to avi, problem is, there are three vobs instead of one movie file to convert to an avi.

Problematic.

Heres some guides for movies on GP32:
http://www.btinternet.com/~waystation/gpcin.html
http://207.44.176.77/~admin28/gp32emu/faq/moviepark.htm

If you arent getting sound off DVD2AVI, I had the same problem. I downloaded another version from here http://neuron2.net/dgmpgdec/dgmpgdec.html and iit does output wav files fine.

I have just seen VirtualDubMod in another post, found here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/virtualdubmod/, which looks like it can be used without having to use DVD2AVI as it supports vob files.

You might want to look in the GP Cinema forum as well http://www.gp32x.de/board/index.php?showforum=17

Found my method!

I used DVD2VCD to obtain an mpeg, then virtualdub to convert to AVI. Total hard drive usage was around 125mb for an eleven minute video. I also managed to clear 4.5gb of space up to try your methods, but now it looks like I may get to keep that space.
