Speaking about gaming, you "maybe" can find alternatives, but them are mostly "different" than "better", leaving you the sensation that you didn't get what you really wanted. It is always difficult even comparing 2 games of the same type, unless them are really almost clones. Anyway, I have to admit my total ignorance about microtransactions and DLC with things deliberately kept separated from a game... I suppose these happens only with massive online multiplayer games, right ? I have never seen such a thing for single player games... with the only exception of DLCs created after the release of the main game.
