DLC-Mania

Propensity to resent the weaknesses of a product (and buy it anyway), instead of searching for better alternatives.

Speaking about gaming, you "maybe" can find alternatives, but them are mostly "different" than "better", leaving you the sensation that you didn't get what you really wanted.

It is always difficult even comparing 2 games of the same type, unless them are really almost clones.

Anyway, I have to admit my total ignorance about microtransactions and DLC with things deliberately kept separated from a game... I suppose these happens only with massive online multiplayer games, right ?
I have never seen such a thing for single player games... with the only exception of DLCs created after the release of the main game.

There are lots of games released with literally dozens of Day-1 DLCs, especially when it comes to big franchises and Japanese games, even on GOG.

Look at the bottom right, all those were released with the base game:

Also this cut content (guns, perks) that was excluded from the game just to put it back in via paid DLC:

Afaik those were also day-1 DLCs:

etc...

HA HA HA !!! Legend of heroes' page !! Didn't see that coming !! WTF !!!!!!!!!!!

Most of the DLCs that I've seen on GOG are proper expansions or game changers, but yeah, there are also games with DLCs with just skins, but those are not game breakers.

Driver: San Fran on x360 contained on disc DLC that you needed to activate with a live code that enables director mode.

I don't know if you've ever played a Driver game, but the director mode has always been a massive part of those games. I still completed that game, but something seemed missing to me without director mode.
