Hey Everyone, been playing around with my GP2x for a few weeks now, and I have DaveC's new cap, and all has been well for a while. The problem Ive encountered doesnt involve the cap, but the stick mechanisim itself. You see, when I push down with some force, and for instance, do a half circle from the down position-left-up, the stick always gets stuck up there, and then is able to flop around dead afterwards. It does this with every direction typically after a circular movement. Any tips guys? thanks for looking:)

Seems like a couple of people have experienced this ... you could either return it or buy a new joystick assembly and re-solder it onto your main board ... it's the shaft that has come loose.

The below diagram is the problem. It can happen after wear, damage or defect.

My best advice to avoid this is to avoid pressing the stick down often and hard. Don't take the piss out of the stick. You don't need gorrilla force to make it work.

It's probably the one from the Alps - look here.

Specs say 50000 cycles for directions and push button. Not too many for continuous use.
