Got my Wiz today from gp2xstore -- ordered it early Thursday afternoon, and here it is! They shipped it out a few hours after I ordered it, and I chose Priority Mail (total cost was $189).
I'm really digging it so far. The screen is gorgeous (found myself quite a few times turning it in every direction I could, amazed that there's NO bad viewing angle!). The controls are great (MUCH better than the 4 separate directional buttons on the F-200). I've been rocking PocketSNES and PicoDrive (with the tearing fix) all day, and am thoroughly enjoying both. In most cases, both are running great with no noticeable slowdown on the default settings (with the exception of a few SNES games with special chips -- Yoshi's Island, for instance). In terms of screen tearing, the single diagonal line crossing my screen during gameplay isn't a dealbreaker. In fact, everything's running so well, and looks so good, that I find myself not noticing the line after playing for awhile. Now, I'll just sit here patiently and wait till the coding gods port GnGeo over.
It came with FW 1.1.0 preloaded, and everything seems to be running as it should. The boot time is a little on the long side, but hey, I've been a GP2X fan since the F-100 days, so I'm used to that kinda thing by now.
The touchscreen was properly calibrated right out of the box, and the accuracy in games like Boomshine and Animatch is great (and this stylus is light years better than the collapsible "car antenna" stylus that came with the F-200). I love the battery pack -- after years of having to swap out rechargeable AA's every few hours, it's a blessing. Being able to charge *and* add/manage files over USB is a very welcome improvement as well.
