For cramfs, how to get the mocca loader to load at start? When I press to make it start at default, it says that it has failed.
This is most likely because cramfs makes the NAND read-only and mocca is attempting to write to the NAND. I'm pretty sure I've read of ways around this, but I can't remember how......kgcs10 posted on Mar 30 2006 at 02:22 AM said:For cramfs, how to get the mocca loader to load at start? Art103's latest u-boot says open2x on it, you can find it HERE. The pictures don't show it because they are of older versions, but it now says open2x when you start it up. You can find the open2x kernel at a different page of his, HERE. Just scroll down a little ways, there should be a link to it on the right.chronomitch posted on Mar 30 2006 at 06:07 PM said:Maybe I'm wrong, but I didn't think open2x was developed enough yet to be used on a gp2x. If it is, could someone provide a link?
I think that open2x is about as slow as GPH's original firmware, and I don't think it makes the NAND read only.kgcs10 posted on Mar 30 2006 at 10:16 PM said:For using this open 2x, make nand read only as well? Also, is it faster than cramfs?
If not, what are the methods for getting mocca to load at start with cram fs?
Really?! Does it support everything that GPH's firmware does? (and more, I would guess....) Is it in a functional state?craigix posted on Mar 30 2006 at 11:39 PM said:Open2X is the fastest, it is faster than CramFS.

The methods for getting mocca to load at start with cramfs are:
1. Modify (or get someone to modify) mocca to bypass linux
2. Create your own kernel image with mocca already on it
I have no experience doing either of these, so unless you know how to do them, I would recommend either giving up mocca and sticking with cramfs or giving up cramfs and sticking with mocca
