I remember seeing a few months back Conky in the background on some desktops, I wanted to give it a try.

Can anyone give me the commands I need to use to incorporate this?

Call me NOOB :)

Thanks man!

DIdn't look over there!

And it works, just copied Spirit's Config.

OK I wish someone would have told the newbies to rename spirit's .conkyrc to conky.conf

Anyway, how would I now get Conky to autostart when I login?

In Settings -> Session and Startup you can add startup programs. To launch a PND you'll need the pnd_run command, eg:

Code:
pnd_run /media/SD_CARD_NAME/pandora/apps/APPNAME.pnd

Success! Thanks Gruso, exactly what I needed. first I tried adding it to my .bashrc only to find myself locked out at login staring at Conky on the Login screen.

I then discovered the [Pnd]+[R]+power. boot to CLI. Navigate to /media/SDcard/ROOT/home/username/ and discovered nano installed ..... removed the offending line and used your method instead.

My Tuxedo is hurting! or is that a Tuxego?

McGyvering. That's the way. :D

Yup, finishing up season 5. We had to skip 2&3 as not they were unavailable at Sams. Needed some practice ;-)

I think I need to add a backup account... I used DSL a while ago and always wondered about the info display on the desktop. I liked it. Nice to have it back. Now to customize it.

If you install the PND utilities, available in the repo, you get pqr (pnd quick run).

With this, the command line would simply be:

Code:
pqr Conky

Advantages:

Shorter command.

More adaptive. No need for static path, as pqr will find it anywhere within the default PND search paths.

SInce this seems to have become a conky questions thread, I'll pose one:

I'd like to show the USB status ...... can someone steer me towards where I might find this please? If I can find the file where the current status is stored, I'm sure I can jigger something together  :p
