Hi !

I've seen a website that explain what to change in order to make a gp work at 166. (it's linked from gbax.com). Are there gameshops or people that can modificate it to work at this speed ? (In germany ???)

Greetings

Tobias

Anox, that's not what he wanted to know ;)

To answer the question: Maybe. I soldered around in my SNES on my own, worked quite nicely ;) But if you want someone to do it for you, why not ask at a local electronics store? I live near a store called "Elektronik Klein", they already told me they would do it. You may perhaps want to try out Conrad Elektronik, they are a quite a large company but maybe they would do it. Of course, expect to pay for it ;)

This shop is selling those 166mhz Gp32, so I guess you could ask them to modify yours.

But it will probably cheaper to go to your local electronics shop.

Edit: I just checked their site and the modification is 30€

At least someone answered his question.

Why are people in this forum to quick to say "USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION"

When they need to read or even understand the post!!

I have been lurking around this forum for the last year (hardly post because i dont feel i have something to say) but i am seeing more and more people just flaming or not helping each other

Anyway sorry to moan but people tend to make people seem like idiots (some people are but give them a chance) Also i'm not geting at anyone in this post its just my 2c

Regards

I don't mind myself what questions are asked, this thread wasn't bad, but you get the ones that are like best SNES rpgs, then 20 mins later somebody else post the same topic only worded a little different. I know when I was a noob I probably asked questions that had already been answered, but hey, we all probably did, so I agree that we need to stop flamming about searching, and just answer the question, unless the question is stupid and known to have been asked 1,000 times, but this subject hasn't really been discussed that much, especially with him asking for people that knows how to mod the GP for him.

Yes, i wanted to know this as well. Could someone please tell me if a company performs a similar sort of act on my GP32 in England. I would send it to that German conpany as a last ditch effort, but would prefer to send nearer. Would it also be possible to have the memory upgaraded by them as well? The only comany i could think of that may upgrade is gbax or play-asia, possibly?

Cheers, (don't mean to be a pest or anything! :))

If a question is not asked 3 times an hour, people will answer.
There are no stupid questions, there are only inquisitive idiots

As I already said, it isn't really a huge modification, just print out the instructions (there is a link on gbax) and go to a electronics shop near you.

But I *think* Gbax is actually a company from the UK, but I am not sure if they will modify used GP32s.

[Edit]
from the Gbax page:

Address:
GBAx.com
422 Denton Road
Denton Burn
Newcastle upon Tyne
NE15 7HB
England
UK

I guess I was right ;) Just ask them nicely if they do it for ya B)

P.S.: Here is the Link to the instructions: http://www.cobbleware.com/gp32/gp32oc.html

At the moment we don't want to take the risk of breaking someone elses GP32 ;)

I've said before if someone on the board wants to mod other peoples GP32's (ex afterburner fitters maybe?) we will send them all the emails we get about it for free, its a popular request and could be a nice earner.

Hi .

I sent my GP32 to be modified to run at 166 Mhz to quasar-x now. Cool that there is a shop in germany that does this. Sending my Console to a different country would be a bit expensive.

Greetings

Tobias

PS. Do you want me to inform you how the console runs when i get it back ?

I do not really want to try that modification myself as i will probably blew it up. I wan't to know a comapny that could do this possibly, like quasar-x. I could try emailing play-asia. I also do not know any technician who could do this for me.

Cheers,

I may try quasar-x.
