CACK (Crap Adventure Construction Kit) beta 2 is available from http://www.sector808.org/wiki/cack:cack

Now includes a game selector, cutscenes, usb controllers, time delayed events, random actions, and more.

Still no editor (not that you need one to create games). Also included are two new demo games, one of which is a great little game by cHEM that's a perfect example of the kind of short fun adventure that CACK is ideal for :).

Thank you very much for continuing work on this unique project :)

I did not get around to trying the first beta, so I am downloading this right now. I hope to see many wacky games made for this as it matures!

this looks like much fun, i love games that encourage modding!

if only it had a weapon/fighting engine like zelda /slash/ final fantasy adventure on gameboy. i know, i'm a dreamer! great release :)

Nice! I had difficulty getting the first BETA to do what I wanted, but these new features should help a lot. I love projects like this! :D

I do wish we had VNS for GP2X though...
Its actually quite versatile for what it is, I thought! Some tasks take a bit of frigging, but quite a lot is achievable. Also, I found Woogal seems very accomodating if you suggest any small improvements.

Although it appears a little daunting at first, its actually very easy to use, once you get your head around it. I really hope more people start using this, it has a lot of potential.

I have started expanding the included game into a bigger project, but the usual things, work commitments and a baby, mean that I don't have a lot of time right now. Also, lack of direction is an issue. :) If anyone would like to take a look at how far I've got, and suggest a possible "storyboard" (ie; story for the game, and some of the puzzles I could include), that might give me the incentive I need...

Anyway, enough about me.. Great news on this release Woogal, I'm looking forward to checking it out, just as soon as my USB key has dried out from going thru the washer.

Looks very nice, but it would be even nicer if there was some way to run, holding down a button or doubble tapping in the direction you want to run would be nice.

But otherwise, a very nice engine (and demos).

Compiled fine on linux for me (using whatever version of ubuntu was around last June). In fact it was much easier and quicker to find and install all the necessary libs on linux than it was on windows (which cack was developed on).
