People said that the gp2x would cost LESS than the current gp32's.

Right... they cost around 20-60$ more than the gp32 :p

Its not that i cant afford it or anything i got lots of moneys. But the thing is .. the gp32 costed 130-160$ except from the sites that rip u off and charge hefty shipping etc.. which scales out to 200$ for a BLU+. (USD prices) So they start at 210$ USD for a gp2x?

So in terms which site is THE BEST and CHEAPEST to buy my gp2x :)

Oh ya and one more thing to confirm... Gp2x has TV OUT for sure right? because thats practically the only reason i want it because there wont be much of a difference for the kind of emus i want. Only snes will be fullspeed thats the only difference :p Maybe a GBA emu, but psx and n64 prob wont run good.

PSP thou, will eventually have a fullspeed psx emu/player :p since it has all the HARDWARE in it.

Anyway it better have the tvout, and is it built in to the unit? or is it seperate.

Thx.

Drak.

EDIT: Why doesnt this thing have Wifi? Me and some friends are planning on buying a few of these devices... Come on be cool all the handhelds have wifi/some kind of inet these days.... DS.. PSP.. XGP (your competitor!!!) geez just team back up with your other half and make an uber machine! ;P

Please take a look at my GP2X FAQ. It answers some of your questions already. It may answer others you may have.

Regarding cheapest place to buy - it's $204 USD ($190 + $14 shipping) shipped from GP32Z.com, which is probably the closest to you since you're in Canada.

My GP32 cost me about $325 after conversion and shipping and import taxes Canadian from LikSang when they still supported it.

Just from ordering from the states, when it arrives, I'll be saving a mint ordering from GP32z.com, so I'm one happy dude.

Wonder what it was...

"$194.90 (~159.32 EUR)"

Straight from my Lik Sang account. With P&P. It's about the same now... I thought the $ had weakened?

Eh thx i just read ur FAQ.

The only thing i dont get it why shipping is so high on online stores. I mean i went to the post office and asked what the most expensive 10pound weighing parcel would cost from getting it to CANADA to UNITED STATES and they said around 6$ USD.

Damn swindlers getting a clear investment of 8$ off shipping.. i could buy some candy with that :)

And the other guy: 300$ WTH? thats a RIP OFF :) i payed like 150$ USD (175ish canadian) for my almost mint gp32 FLU with 2* 128mbsmc, 64mbsmc, and a 32mbsmc which i think is much better than a BLU if u actually go outside. this was like 4-5 months ago.

Come on people!

1) You can't compare the price of a SECOND HAND gp32 with a BRAND NEW gpx2!
2) Prices are sure to be higher for the first few batches
3) Read the FAQ
4) TV Out is a module
5) Read the FAQ
6) Wifi would raise the price. One of the goals was low price
7) Read the FAQ
8) www.gpx2.com
9) Read the damn FAQ

yea, i was wondering about the price also. I guess $205 isn't too bad, I was just hoping it would be closer to $150 than $200.

If I recall correctly they never said "cheaper than GP32" they ony said "less than 200 dollars" which is for the most part still true untill you add shipping but that's not their fault, you gotta get it from them some how.

I think £124 is a bargain, I was expecting it to be a fair amount more and I had enough sitting around in my bank. Looks like I am going to be buying another one for a friend in exchange for a couple of his old unused gadgets, too.

The TV out is one of the major reasons both me and him want one. I am hoping the "Special Cable" will be an off-the-shelf affair I can pick up when I get the GP2x.

The price is hardly a broken promise, though. Come on!

Wasn`t the tv-out support a last minute addition too, I know it`s not intergrated, But support for the addon was, Wasn`t it ?.

Trooper

ya the TVOUT is the main reason i want it for anime and movies. cuz converting for the gp32/dvd is time consuming while with this thing its a transfer/enjoy kind of thing :)
