Breakout Box / Cradle Coming In Late December

It looks really great but I really wanna know the rough cost and how it is powered because I would probably use it to connect a portable hard-disk to so I could have a portable PSX + movie player :D

Deepmenace: Yes, that's pretty much impossible/not worth the cost and trouble. Same reason the batteries aren't charged if you plug in your GP2X by itself.

I'll definitely buy one if there is developer support behind it, as in updating emulators for multiplayer mode.

Already supported in MAME and AFAIR GNGeo ;)

Also... impress your friends, by taking to their house and showing off Beat2X with a USB dance pad w/o having ugly cables come out the bottom of your 2x.

i'll have to get a new semi-portable case that can fit the gp the bob a tv out cable and 2 usb controllers.

...
+ GnoStiC added USB joystick support, I made it possible to use it for player 2 control (currently untested).
...
Picodrive =) And beat2x allready support usb=)

Hmmm,

It's the same hardware as the current BOB only it's in a case.
That's not to run it down, but point out there doesn't appear to
be any new functionality.

I just bought the bare BOB a few days ago. The GP2X mkII
can power the BOB (at least when I tried it with a mains adapter)
and there is a power input socket on the BOB, but I didn't test
to see if the BOB would power the GP2X.

I thought the GP2X provided the 5V out, so don't think the BOB
can power it in reverse?

I tested a usb sdreader+sdcard and it came up ok as ext storage.
Still to test a usb HDD
Also plugged in my logictech usb joystick and mame reacted to
it (but no fire buttons) - still to fiddle with this.

What I was really hoping for is something like this....

I love the design, and the idea of taking Mame round to my friends house in a little box is too tempting to miss.

No one was expecting new functionality, we all just wanted it finished off in a case and not like the developer version.

To be honest I'd never considered the possibilies of the BOB before, other than just as a developers tool. But seeing that mockup makes it look sooo funky, like a little console, just gatta get one now :)
