Blocking URL's from titles.

Just looked at the threads, jesus fuck look at that spam!

Looks like they're all posting links in the titles themselves. Should be relatively easy to program a URL detection thing in the XenForo php files.
 
Just reported another spambot thread, went to this subfrorum to post basically same thing as Kippykip posted here!

Now they seem to be programmed to set up polls with the spammed link as the poll question. Perhaps just doing this will help.

But again, from a forum user's perspective, this isn't breaking them to the point where the human-authored threads aren't hard to find... yet :)

Do they really think someone's going to buy whatever they're selling in a random poll link in a completely unrelated forum? Spammers these days...
 
It's mostly about ensuring there are enough links out there on the wider internet to game google's newest pagerank algorithm into putting their page above others when someone searches for anything close to it. It doesn't matter if we can see it's clearly spam, and it doesn't matter if nobody here clicks on it, it's all about pushing their result above others in google searches.
