[Beta testing needed] Auto SD partitioner and rootfs installer.

I've tried out your version 0.2.

Unfortunately I can't download the rootfs.

When selecting the folder I can neither choose the SD-card I which was formatted before nor my USB-device.

Here's the errormessage:

"Could not mount "name of device"

Failed to execute child process "gnomemount" (No such file or directory)"

The USB-stick has also a Swap-file on it? Might this be the problem?

The brand is "Patriot". It should be good.

There are 1.5 GB left on the other SD-card.

This one can be mounted.

Should I download to this card or does unpackaging from one card to an other take too long?

You should be able to browse via "filesystem", then looking inside the /media folder. This is a zenity or Xfce bug i think.

Nope, the usb swap is ok.

Forget it.

I rebooted my Pandora and it's fine now.

Here's a little suggestion:

Could you add the possibility to make a 256 MB or 512 MB Swap file?

I would like to have a bigger one.

Edit:

I'm downloading the stable 13.37 version at the moment.

I'll be back in about 2.30 hours.

Why the heck didn't I take my USB to Ethernet with me :D .

WTF.

My downloading screen disappeared!!

Is that normal?

When selecting the file on my USB I can watch it growing but there's no download screen.

*panic*

Edit:

When checking the "connection information" on my toolbar icon there's also some sort of download activity shown.

SL4P still continues growing.

I won't interrupt it as long as the file continues growing.

What do I have to do now?

After rebooting still the original kernel starts.

The Pandora doesn't even detect the SD-card.

It's not shown on the desktop.

I can't "boot from SD1" when holding R during booting.

The mmcblk0p1 doesn't exist.

When using G-parted that's the result:

Is there a problem with the installer?

My card is a 32 GB SD-card.

It's usable space is about 30 GB.

When I eas asked about the size of my card I typed 32 GB.

Was this wrong because it's effective size is only 30 GB and I had to tread it as a 16 GB card instead?

I hope you can fix this problem.

There seems to be a problem with your formatting of the SD.

I really don't know :/.

The Unknown 29 GiB is weird. Will investigate.

One user reported it may be needed to power off the unit if the install took place on the slot 1.

Would you please give me the command to uncompress the rootfs onto my SD-card.

SD is in slot 1.

Rootfs is in USB (name Patriot)- SL4P (name of folder)

I'll reformat the card then and try it manually.

Does it matter if I make a bigger swap file?

I formatted the card as you did.

Some space at the beginning and some at the end.

Swap follows OS.

Uncompressing is running.

Sorry to ask you again but I was smart enough not to make a copy of the "autoboot.txt".

Would you please give it to me (or the text inside it).

Great.

I hope it works this time.

Still unpackaging.

I'll give report as soon as I've finished.

We'll see then if it's n issie with my card.

Some question:

Is there a real flash player on Slackware or do I have to continue using Firefox.
