Hi torpor,

thanks for the release of Oricutron.

Two questions :

  • The PND appears in the Other section ... is it possible to view it in the Games section for minimenu or Emulators for Xfce ?
  • What is the default path to copy so games ? ... apparently it's not possible to browse up the default one.

subone: yes, I'll fix the section category, it annoys me too .. should be in "Emulators" as far as I can tell.

I don't know why you can't browse up the directory to a new place on the filesystem, will look into that .. thanks for the report.

Hi Topor,

I missed that update several month ago, I just downloaded it and will test it soon.

Greatings from C.E.O (Club Oric Europe) !

Hi torpor,
any news about a new release ?

Haven't had it on my cards but I'll see about doing a new port this week ..

Out of the box, oricutron builds very easily with CDEVTOOLS.pnd, SDL-only (no GTK, no GL). It runs pretty well, but there are some issues with keymapping that makes some games unplayable.

I would like to add custom code to oricutron for the Pandora, so that the d-pad can be configured for various keys .. got any suggestions for a set of common keys to use? Some games use A/Z, ./, and so on .. while others use the arrow keys with the value on the keys, and yet others just use them for buttons.

So there has to be some sort of config possibility for the d-pad, in terms of what it sends to Oricutron in order to make some titles work very smoothly with the Pandora itself. Also, it'd be good to just be able to use it as a joystick as well (already works, but the user has to configure the nubs prior to running it).

So there is a bit of Pandora-specific hacking to do.

That said, I've submitted a pull request with the tweaks to make it build out of the box with the CDEVTOOLS.pnd, so that should make it possible for you to at least try the new version. I'll get to the d-pad/key config soon'ish ..

Here we go, in case you want to build the latest Oricutron on your Pandora, this PR gives you the scaffolding to do it ..

https://github.com/pete-gordon/oricutron/pull/79

Tested with the latest CDEVTOOLS ..
[doublepost=1463052626,1463052558][/doublepost]TODO for "PandOricutron":

1. Enable GL mode (its really much nicer)
2. Add customizable configurations for d-pad usage vis-a-vis Oric games
3. Any other Oric/Pandora integration tweaks..
4. Make a "PandOricutron.pnd" and put it up on the repo.
