I never owned a SNES only played on a mates or tinkered under GP32 emulation.

I've had a lot of fun with my GBA playing GBA RPGs and wondered which are the best SNES RPG remakes are available for the GBA. I need to start looking on ebay before I finish Golden Sun 1 and 2.

I prefer turn based combat but I'm not afraid to play action based combat either if the game is worth playing.

Any suggestions will be gratefully recieved.

If you have never played it, you simply must pick pick up Final Fantasy IV.

Lunar Legends (actually from the Sega CD)
Tales of Phantasia

Also, a couple FF remakes will be coming out this year (V and VI... I think).

Shinneris right.. i forgot about Final Fantasy V and VI coming out. Final Fantasy VI being my favorite in the series. Im still playing the fan translated Tales of Phantasia on my SNES flashcart at the moment, and enjoying it quite a bit. The random battle rate is extremely high in the original, but i hear they toned it down a lot in the remakes.

And while they arent RPGs, i have to recommend Metroid Fusion and Zero :D I really enjoyed both of them.

Oh hell yes, Metroid Fusion is one of the best games I've ever played! I'm buying Zero off my sister for £5 at the weekend, looking forward to that...

Zero Mission is better than Fusion IMO, expect for one incredible pain in the ass spot that I won't spoil for you.

Isn't Zero just an updated version of Metroid for the NES? I think I read that somewhere...
It is, but it's a HUGE update. Basically they took Metroid, and made it Super Metroid Advance. It's really a great game.

I think maybe Metroid Zero is better classified as a remake than an update. The areas are generally in the same spot, but there is a LOT new about it.

Other RPGs to check out are Breath of Fire I and II. Ive personally only played II on SNES however. It can be a little tedious at times, but its a solid game. I really enjoyed it.
