Battery Power

I now tested the ANSMANN 2400mAh ones... they work almost exacly the same time  -Varta screwed me! Oh wait... I am not really sure if those batteries where still full... I reloaded them some time ago, they might've lost some power...

my pet hate is the damn battery meter, which on my system shows as full or empty but nothing in between...........bizarre.

Ive gotten medium on my duracells. But its pretty funny, that my medium battery logo is a duracell (im making my own skin, but its really random and makes no sence, and it is no constant theme, so im not gunna release it)

I allways get "MIDIUM" or "FULL" it's not really helpfull true, I only know that midium means the batteries will run sometime from now on(don't really have a clue how long).

Midium doesn't help me, give me some real battery estimate, please at least in tens like 10%, 20% 90% etc...

mine lasts about 6hours with 2500mah nimh gp brand batteries :)

Shitskys. I have the exact same batteries, but mine only last 3-4 hours.

They're brand new though, and the booklet says they need to go through about 3 full discharge-charge cycles before they're up to capacity.

Problem is that the gp2x stops working way before they're completely discharged. I'm plugging the half-drained ones into an unused GBA now :)... let's see if that increases my battery life.

Theoretically you should get 5hrs out of those 2500mAh's though... (2500mAh / 500mA = 5h). I wonder how you got 6... or did you exclusively use the music player with disabled backlight? (Which should give 2500/300 = 8 hrs)

Wonder if batteries are like CPUs - maybe they're only marked at the minimum they definitely go to, and yours happen to be supper overchargeable batteries.

Dead Karl is one of those rare and amazing but largely unknown bits of hidden internet glory, and unusual in that it was one I was not previously privy to.

I also thought the battery thing sad "MIDIUM", but it turns out that if you look closely it actually says "MIDUM" - I could be deceiving myself, but I think I'm right on this score...

Anyway, the bottom line on batteries is: get rechargeable ones, c. 2500 mAh, recharge regularly, and you should be fine.

And joeeoh, it shouldn't really make a difference, but taking the batteries out can't hurt.

Really? but then why do my batteries keep running out in about a half hour? If it's not that my GP2X is still using them when I turn them off :( :( :(   how do I find what the MAH is on the batteries? ( god I'm sucha noob! )

Just by some Ansmann batteries off the internet.
Like so. And buy a nimh charger while you are at it.
