Atari Lynx Emu Problems

I'm having trouble running handy2x, the lynx emulator.

I have checked the config file, made sure I have put everything in the correct directory, and that all the specified dirs exist on the sd card, and that it is all lower-case etc.

I get as far as the rom requester, but whichever rom I choose, I get a black screen for a few seconds, and then a drop out back to the main gp2x frontend.

to be extra sure, I am using the config file in its original state, just as it comes from the archive, so have the 'handy' directory straight off the root of the sd card.

the one thing that might be causing problems is that there is a 'skin' directory specified in the config file, but there are no emu skin files provided, so it just points to an empty dir. maybe this is for future expansion, or maybe I need a skin to start it? I couldn't find any handy2x skins.

any help would be appreciated. thanks.

Have you got a lynxboot.img file? The readme rather skimps on that bit, but you need it in the handy directory. I think it's the lynx firmware, so isn't shipped with the emu for legal reasons.
