Best programming language for making games [apart from ASM] on 8bit atari is: Action! and TurboBasic XL. C is really crippled on Atari, so i dont recommend it. There's also Kyan Pascal. If you want to cross-compiling programming on atari there's a CC65 comilper aswell.,

C for 8bit machines was not uncommon, but yeah, C++ .. best avoided I imagine (except on the ST and later Atari machines, where even current gcc runs just fine.)
thanks for the replies! but how do you type in the code on the emulator and when you do, save it? and didn't know there were so many languages for the atari :blink: . I downloaded some books for the atari and just wanted to follow along with the examples they had in the books.
