It's a java applet that simulates a hayes-compatible modem, such as the one in the Pyra's cellular chip. I don't know what subset of the hayes extensions it supports, but I'd expect it to at least support picking up the phone and dialling numbers, which is what you'd need if you're developing phone software for the Pyra.
Ok, when clicking the link, it automatically forwards me to Oracle to download Java (as I do only have Linux, and not windows, it does not seem to detect it as installed and forwards me; but pressing stop works).
The installer is for Windows, unsure if you can run it in Linux. Could be handy indeed.
