Anyone got one. They look amazing.

Anyone know what psx emulation is like on them

I'm going to move this to Other Consoles, if that's alright, as this question doesn't relate to the Pandora.

My coworker just ordered one of these.

It's virtually the same as a recent android smartphone without the cellphone capability (and thus, is cheaper). I wouldn't suspect it's emulation ability is any different than those smartphones, it's using the same OS and the same hardware.

Also it has no buttons/keyboard so actually playing something on it will be more or less like pulling teeth, unless you want to play the super simple games like Angry Birds.

...but the emulators/games will play a dame sight better than on my/1000s of preorders Pandoras that I am still waiting for after over 2 years.

It is irrelevant if something is awesome if it is not available. Every 2 months its another 2 months and when that is said it always looks like it could be true.

Rant rant - a bird in the hand and all that!!!!!

I'm a humongous android enthusiast and supporter.... however, you will regret getting this for emulators. It's just the lack of physical controls.

I suggest getting a cannoo/wiz if console emulation is your main reason for getting this, they're about the same price or cheaper and will do a better job

if your reason for wanting this is for any OTHER reason than gaming I say this looks like a solid product.

that's all i got to say about that

This + the iContorlpad would be cool and if you don't have a smart phone this is the way to go I think. $199.99 doesn't sound that cheap though, every youtube review I'm watching on it keeps saying it's crazy cheap and I guess to me Android just doesn't look like it is high end enough to cause a device to be justified at that price point. The funny thing is I would totally think it was worth it if it ran a standard Linux that you can replace with whatever you want but I guess that is just me.

It does have HDMI out but only at 720p, my 1080p monitor looks ok with a 720p device hooked up but not as sharp as a 1080p device. I think when chip sets that are capable of 1080p are put into devices like this it I'd get one.

Yeah I think its ridiculous that the icontrol paD is taking so long or another version hasnt come out.

I was thinking of doing my own hack with a snes control pad adding bluetooth to it.
I thought about the caanoo and came to the conclusion that psp does everything for cheaper...a tad soul destroying that realization!

I use my HTC hero for web browsing and I love it! Laptop only gets turned on for serious writing! So I think the archos 43 will do everything I want. As soon as the icontrolpad ppl pull their thumbs outta their ass they're going to be onto a winner. They better hurry up though as a few companies are starting to take note of the gap in the market!
