I know there have been much talk about how a powered USBhub could solve the trouble people have with a lot of things (Wi-Fi, Multicontroller, hell even usbharddrives). And i know for a fact it has been done for the GP32 so it is doable. I have also heard it shouldn't be to hard, so I wondered if someone would be intrested in building one of these babies and sell them, I see the need for it is there, and it would draw LOTS of attention, so i dont se why not, meself I do not have the competence or the funds to do it (Hell, my last GP32 died while i repainted it XD). So Anyone (GP32z?)

Sorry if this seems like a bad idea, but I'm just trying to express the need I feel for this kind of thing ^^

or just build yourself a small unpowered -> powered adapter, all you need is a mini usb plug, a fmale usb plug, a 7805 power converter and a 9v block, or anything else (6(6,5)-12(24)v, depending on voltage converter version.
maybe i build some for people who cant solder it themself if usb host works out to be good supported, price is about 5€ in parts.

If it works I will pay someone to build one, unless a pre-fab instantly GPx2 compatible solution will be available of course.

Hardware hacking is not really my thing, last time I dabbled I fried my GBA.... which made for a pretty good excuse to buy the SP.

yes, named to be a standart mini usb plug.
Prophet, that hub dosnt give power when connected to a unpowered port, so its pretty useless :-/

Hmm.

But couldn't it be used, for example, to simultaneously hook up a powered HD (like the Apacer in the FAQ) and some others? So you could have multiple items at once. Just an idea. Craig seemed to think it might be useful when he saw it.

I guess a real powered USB hub (one without batteries) would be enough, since you arn't going to carry around a lot of extras anyways.

But a not portable option to turn your GP2x into a 'real' console is a really nice idea, and I guess those powered usb hubs should provide that option without any troubles.

I'm certainly not a hardware hacker (yet...) and am very interested in this. I ant to get into it some, and build a chassis of some sort (wheeld probably) for my gpx2 so it can be a mini robot. To be of much use though, it also needs wifi so it can talk and send data to bigger more powerful comouters to do more "thinking".
