Makes me rage.
Deal extreme, which has the most powerful lasers, only uses paypal which follows US law in not allowing the purchase of lasers over 5 mW or something.
However, the laser in the video, i believe, can be purchased from http://www.budgetgadgets.com/hlp18130-focusable-laser-pointer-200mw-p-5770.html
there, which I don't think has the same paypal restriction.
Also, anyone know if dealextreme actually enforces its laser restrictions?

Dealextreme very much so enforces this... It's frustrating 2x because your paypal account has to have a credit card that's also based outside of the US.

I've been thinking of buying a cheap blue laser diode module off eBay for $50 and building my own laser pistol.

You can get powerful lasers in the US here, but they are quite expensive.

You have to also beware of real cheap ones, they are not all the same. The optics make a big difference, if the beam disperses/scatters and is not tight due to dodgy optics it will not burn very well or at all even at a high output wattage.

laser fans? I am a laser fan for one :)

I have about 10 lasers at home. the kings of my collections are: 200mw green, 300mw red, 140mw blu-ray.
