    Pandora Rebirth case broken

So, after many years of use and I admit leaving the stylus on the keyboard when shutting my Pandora Rebirth, a corner of the lid has finally cracked and broken off on one side and the other side is just cracked. Has anyone got just a lid/outer case of lid for sale? How much hassle is it to...

    Slackware for Pandora 14.1

Ah! I missed the multi-paging of the files in the sub-folders. Excellent news. Yeah, I followed the instructions about sbopkg....I'll just leave it compiling, so long as it finishes before I have to get on a plane on Sunday :) Thanks for the feedback. EDIT: It finished @ 23:50...started at...

    Slackware for Pandora 14.1

Just a curiosity question: I installed Slackware 14.1, no problems at all. I downloaded from the repository the node.tar.gz, expanded to a folder, copied the node-v0.12.7.tar.gz into the folder and then executed ./node.SlackBuild. That was nearly 12 hours ago...... does anyone know how long...

    Pandora nodejs running on pandora

Okay, so it took me nearly 2 years to get around to this :D but, all it involves is downloading node via the repository. Here's the link for Slackware 14.0 https://slackbuilds.org/repository/14.0/network/node/ and here's the HowTo if you download and install manually...

    Telegram-Cli

I downloaded Telegram-Cli from the Repo. I installed to SDCard. I have made sure I have a WiFi connection first. Can check by using BabyPanda to open google.com successfully. When I start Telegram-Cli, it opens a Terminal session, displays the initial lines and then just bombs out and closes...

    Pandora nodejs running on pandora

Ok. I have slackware on an SD card. will it be as simple as using Gslapt? Or do I have to download the linux .gz and extract it? Apologies, I haven't used my pandora in a while so am a bit rusty.

    Pandora nodejs running on pandora

Hi, I'm wanting to install and run nodejs directly on my open pandora. Has anybody already done this, any issues to be aware of? I did a search of the forum and didn't find anything. Thanks. Tony

    mongodb

installed sbopkg.   it's a nice front end.  sadly, when I run it for mongodb, I get the same error  :-( it downloads the ....i686-2.4.5.tgz file and then complains that it cannot locate ....arm-2.4.5.tgz file. thought I was onto a winner there.....

    mongodb

indeed it is : http://slackbuilds.org/repository/14.0/system/mongodb/ I setup an 8Gb card with Slackware, installed nicely, thanks to the instructions on one of the threads. I followed the instructions for nginx.  That built and output into the /tmp folder a .tgz and seemed to install okay (I...

    mongodb

has anyone got mongodb running on the Pandora? I'm about to embark on several 7hr flights and I'd like to use my Pandora for coding PHP and mongodb.  I have the lighttpd-php working okay. I downloaded mongodb tar file, extracted it to the SD1 card, but when I executed mongod or mongo from a...

    Release lighttpd test PND

just tried this out and works a treat.  I need to do some work whilst travelling on trains & planes (no internet access) and this is a perfect solution for me. my only request is that the PHP allows the creation of sqlite2 DBs and the Browser and Studio only open sqlite3 DBs, are you able to...

    Freezing Pandora

nope, doesn't go blank, just stays as it is and freezes.  touch screen doesn't respond and no keys seem to do anything.  I have noticed that time is 2hrs behind though.  I think I'll do an OS update tomorrow. EDIT: before doing the OS update.  I noticed that the Pandora is now actually doing a...

    Freezing Pandora

I may have figured it out.  I "forgot" that I installed vnstat, well, I did actually press [Cancel] when installing but it seems to have ignored that and installed it anyway.  It had set a Service to start up to monitor network traffic.  I've just turned it off.  Will re-test and see if it now...

    Freezing Pandora

I've been a very happy chappy and have been using my Pandora on and off for the past 2 years.  I left it on the shelf for about 6 months, charged it back up and have been using it for the past couple of weeks with no problem.  I usually use it on flights from UK to Europe, so about 2hours...

Getting Internet without USB and Wireless?

back in the day (okay, 2000-2003) I worked at AvantGo.com, we had software that did exactly what you describe - cached websites (to a certain) depth offline for reading at your leisure (on train, in London tube, etc...).  It worked well for Palm and Pocket PC devices.  Then AvantGo was bought by...

Anybody considering picking up an Oculus Rift..?

I was a kickstarter backer for this, I believe that I'll have to wait until March/April before I get delivery of the Occulus Rift with the dev sdk.  Will keep you posted on progress good and bad.

    USB WiFi RT5370 driver help

Thanks for your help (and perseverance) Pickle & notaz! After noticing that the rt2870.bin file I'd downloaded to my laptop was 0 bytes (I think I must have clicked on the blob link and it downloaded an empty file rather than the raw link that downloads an 8.2bytes file), I copied the proper...

    USB WiFi RT5370 driver help

I can see in the /lib/modules/3.2.21/drivers/net/wireless/ folders that there are plenty of files that should do he job for me. (mainly in the /rt2x00 sub-folder) I did as you initially suggested and downloaded the rt2870.bin file from the git folder and copied it to the /lib/firmware folder...
