I wanted to have a test web server on the go, so, after much back and forth on figuring out how to properly make a PND using appdata+config(and failing to get cherokee properly compiled/working), I have a nice portable lighttpd server. PND will create the needed files in the appdata folder on first start. Put all pages in docroot in the appdata folder. Let me know what you think.

Also, Here's a version with PHP included.

p.s. due to some interesting things while compiling, I can't guarantee php_crypt will work nor give correct values.

Thanks for this. Seems to work like charm (still have to try a real network test thoug, but connecting with local host works)

just tried this out and works a treat.  I need to do some work whilst travelling on trains & planes (no internet access) and this is a perfect solution for me.

my only request is that the PHP allows the creation of sqlite2 DBs and the Browser and Studio only open sqlite3 DBs, are you able to recompile the PND to use sqlite3 libraries?

alternatively, can anyone point me to a sqlite2 Browser/Studio?

EDIT: I downloaded and dropped this file into the \docroot folder and it works great : http://code.google.com/p/phpliteadmin/

Why not put these on the repo?  Can be useful for web developers, and I imagine this works better than apache2 on the Pandora.

Interesting :)

Thanks sswarm for up in the topic...i didn't know that it exist before.

Maybe if this was on the repo..... ;)

I recently made a DVD with the Angstrom repo and Mongoose web server so I can use it offline. That still required a Windows machine to act as the server. With lighttpd I can put the repo on the SD card, serve it, and access it (127.0.0.1) using the Pandora alone. B) Thanks for the utility and thanks for the timely bump!

EDIT: Yes, I could have done this by configuring opkg to fetch the Angstrom packages from the local directory on the SD.
