I can second that. Haven't launched it for years now (I only use the Pandora for playing 2-3 retro games every now and then). But ... is the feed PNDManager uses still maintained? I'm browsing through the forums here - again: after years - and see some very interesting software announcements...
Reading so much about the case manufacturing and the moulds, I was interested in how all that works.
Here are two videos I'd like to share with out, that explain that well:
(how injection molding works)
(hoe moulds are made)
Probaably you have considered that already, but just in case (as it's not yet been mentioned in this thread): Have you tried LEDs with a bigger light emission angle? This could help distributing the light more evenly.
If I am not mistaken, there are even SMD LEDs with small domes of diffusing...
Hi,
I have several Pandoras I heavily modified and swapped mainboards etc... so I now don't remember which Pandora has what hardware configuration inside.
I vaguely remember there was a script or PND that checks the system and shows information about which kind of Pandora it is run on?
But I...
Hm, I'd guess just the lockable keys need a visual indicator (only Fn and Shift/Capslock). Alt and Ctrl are only active while you press them (unless if you use some software that allows locking of these keys, but I assume not so many people do this).
So two colors would be enough.
Also, it's...
No way! Clamshell rules! For my part of the "target group" clamshell design is inevitable. Try to use a device like you describe in "Laptop mode". It's so frustrating. Tried with Sony XPeria Pro and a few other devices like that. I am so happy that we have here one of the last remaining...
Btw - do we have any visual indicator for any keyboard locks on the keyboard itself? (caps lock, Fn lock)..., i.e. LEDs for those locks?
On the Pandora I found myself with a "messed up" keyboard sometimes, until I finally realized that Fn Lock was active. ;-)
There are two ways to indicate...
This "target group issue" has been discussed already in the space bar thread: http://boards.openpandora.org/topic/17628-what-option-for-a-spacebarbutton-would-you-like/page-2...
We concluded that also people who don't belong to the primary target group should chime in and point out their...
Not so here.
I just checked using my 200LX and analyzed how I was typing on it. I use both index fingers approximately with the same frequency. Which one I use, depends mainly on what the previous characters were. E.g. if the space is preceded by a comma (which is located directly to the...
Just a vague idea:
Can't a keymat be build that has no key labels yet, but a laser-printable surface, so that with some kind of (standard?) laser printing system users can let some service print their own labels onto the keymats? Then we just need some files with default, suggested or our own...
Another thought about the space "bar or button" discussion:
A space bar that takes two button places is probably nothing else than two button contacts on the PCB, right? The "bar" on top triggering both contacts, and a space being generated when at least one of the contacts is triggered.
If...
I cannot speak for mrpalmtop - but I have been touch-typing with about 6 fingers (3 of each hand) on the keyboard of a HP 200LX for about 10 years almost daily, and I was faster on that device than on a standard keyboard (and there I am pretty fast). On good days I wrote text approximately...
Having the space bar centered has the big advantage that people who are used to type on standard keyboards will find it easily with their fingers, while typing fast. The keybaord is not so „uncommon“. Every „uncomonness“ is a reason, especially for people who want to work rather than play (no...
So now it's the question how such a poll is meant to be used.
I understood it that way, that each one of us can vote for the preferred space placement for himself. For me it would be in the middle. If most other users don't do that kind of typing I do, their favorite position will not be in the...
Ah Saber, now that you mention that workaround, I remember it. But see, I forgot it before. And that will happen to most users, who use DOSBox rather occasionally on the Pandora or Pyra. It's not exactly obvious. ;-)
DOSBox may not be the only software that has problems with non-standard...
I am a laptop-style Pandora user (i.e. device placed on table or lap, then using two hands with about 3 fingers each to type on it).
Hence I strongly prefer the spacebar to be in the middle (symmetric).
Joining this discussion only now - sorry, if I should have brought this to the discussion earlier... ;-)
Given the keymapping problems with DOSBox on Pandora, I would really like to have a keyboard which has only commonly used combinations of (special) characters on each key, so that normal...
Hi guys,
after several months, I just re-tried to make DisplayLink work. No luck with SZ 1.61.
My older Pandora with 1.54 still works.
udlfb module is loaded, but I don't even get a greenscreen. It's the same adapter as I used back then when writing my tutorial.
Does anyone know what...
