    Prboom With Psx Doom Mp3's

I'm sorry, i'm not familar with the GP2X Doom port(S), but I've gotta say that some of those are pretty rockin'. If it's possible to get it to work with the 2X, i'll have to try the remixes from Classic Doom 3.

The Official Gp2x Startup Sound Topic

One of the Zelda jingle might be nice. Da Da Da Duuuum! "You got the GP2X! With this you can watch movies, listen to music or play emulated games!"

Firmware Upgrade Compatible Cards And Faq

Trying to update my first edition GP2X is driving me nuts. I've tried three different cards, all prepped both by Windows XP or by Gadget's program. Now, I KNOW my 2X isn't one of the rare models that can't be updated, because thanks to Robs updater (and believe me, THANKS!, I'm looking forward...

    GP2X Ram/flash?

You can get 128 meg cards for as little as £15 quid. Ideally, I'm looking to get a one or two gig SD card eventually, once the firmware bugs are fixed. That was I can store my music library and whatnot on it, and then use the same card in either the Pocket PC or the GP2X, depending on which...

[mac Os] Gp2x Usb Problem Solved

However, the benefit is pretty clear: You'd be able to upload and download from the PC to the GP2X from any USB enabled PC, no drivers required, and there'd be no need to splash out on an extra card reader. Basically, if (and when) it works right, it'd make the GP2X a fully self contained unit.

    Gba Vs. Gp2x

To give the GBA it's dues, it's pretty damn impressive what can be achieved on a GBA. It's a mature platform with a lot of freely available (unofficial) dev-tools and no operating system to get between the coder and the hardware. I can even sort of see his argument, because I'd have liked to...

    Quake I Released

OK, quick question. I've got Quake running, but I've noticed that in START.MAP, the game crashes whenever I go to enter the pool of water that will take you to episode 4. It's not just me, is it?

    The Other Build Engine Games

Interesting. I didn't realise there was source code for Shadow Warrior. Personally, I'd quite like to get Doom running. With a lot of luck I should have my GP2X tomorrow, and Doom suits console controls far better than Quake, IMO. Anyone know if a straight compile on Linux/SDL Doom work?

    How Gbax.com Orders Are Going??

Mine is on the way too. 19th.

    The Other Build Engine Games

I may be wrong but I don't think there's no source code to work from for any of the other Build Engine games. (build is just the basic engine - each of the games in question used a different modification of the it)

    Quake Ii Released

Actually, I'd swear I've done it before, though it was probably with the Quake 1 or Half-Life engines. The texture winds up more stretched on the model, and looks pretty crappy, but it should fit just fine so long as the new texture is the same aspect ratio. The major advantage of doing this...

    Quake Ii Released

While this is true, I *doubt* very much that ID would be too down on a PAK file distribution which contains quality reduced versions of the original textures (who'd want to play with them unless they had to?), especially if that distribution had the possibility of squeezing a few more sales out...

    Who Was Late Pre-ordering?

Funnily enough, I've only just checked my email... still nothing. *sigh*

    Quake!!1!

Also, if you're too tight to pay for Quake 1, there's an open source alternative to buying the original game. I don't know if it works on the GP2X, but you might try Open Quartz, which is a game-base that runs on the Quake engine, and that is also GPL compliant for building mods on, unlike the...

    Quake!!1!

If you can find the shareware version of Quake 1, you should be able to retrieve Pak 0 from it. As I recall, Pak 0 is the shareware version: Pak 1 is the registered content. http://www.idsoftware.com/games/quake/quak...me_section=demo You can also buy the full version direct from iD as a...

    Diffrence

If you ask me, that was your problem right there. I find most Anti-Virus software is flakier than a Flake, so having several installed at once... ouch. Norton in particular, I've never got along with. It's always hated my PC's with a vengeance, and on one spectacular occasion on one machine...

    Amiga Roms

Also, the Amiga's ROMS and Amiga Disk Images are two different things. Get your damn terminology right ;) In the Amiga's case, the ROMS were inside the machine and contained a goodly portion of AmigaOS. (In this sense, they are analogous to what most other emulators would call a BIOS) They...

    Doom I & Ii

Doom didn't have mouselook, as such, but I'm sure it was always possible to use the mouse to "steer". Pushing the mouse up or down resulted in you moving forwards and backwards rather than the now traditional control over the Y axis though.

Marathon Aleph One / Abuse Possible?

Well, there's a Linux SDL version of the game certainly, but I don't have my GP2X yet, so I don't know how difficult it would be to convert and recompile. Almost certainly beyond me, though. Anyone out there feel like taking a look?

    Quake Ii Released

You shouldn't need to redistribute the entire game. Just supply a PAK with the replacement textures. If I recall correctly, the Quake Engine games use the stuff in the higher numbered PAK files in favour of lower numbered PAK files, using the lower numbered only when it can't find the file it...
