    Commercial Games

Several people have mentioned that there will be FPS to spare on day one, and in general I think we have a lot of programming talent. The money should probably be spent on games that would get us other resources that are not so easily duplicated or cloned: 3D artwork, expansive storylines...

    Pandora Tablet Mod

Is anyone familiar with the old Sharp Telios 7000 (aka the Intermec 6651)? It was an old Windows HPC, and had a screen that folded all the way around. Anyone know how the hinge on that one worked? I have not been able to get a good look at the hinge from the pics I have found online. beljam

    The Keyboard

Bit of a problem, there... There is no zero in orange on the keyboard, as far as I can see. If you lock Fn2 to use a calculator, you need to unlock to enter '0'? That should make for lots of inconvenient key presses, or some interesting approximations. beljam

    Did You Preorder?

Count mine as a vote for "Don't want one", but would have voted for "Wait and see" if it were an option.

    Is This A First?

Hmmm... Are you asking if this is the first game console combined with a computer, or the first one to be portable? You include portable in the criteria, but mention a desktop... If you leave off the portable requirement, you could certainly argue about the the early Atari (400 & 800)...

    Windows Based Next Gen Pandora?

Take a look at the DigiFriends MID: http://www.engadget.com/2008/01/08/hands-o...ends-wibro-mid/ It can be used as a tablet, but add-ons turn it into a clamshell. Several add-ons are available, including an extended battery, keyboard, and a gamepad. jam

    Pandora Keyboard Layout

I don't think the problem is all that serious. Given all the other advantages of the Pandora, is the placement of two keys really a make it or break it proposition? One layout would be notably easier for me than the other, and I have voted that way, but the difference is not so great that I am...

    Pandora Keyboard Layout

Since just a few posts above you, MilanC expressed need to use Ctrl+Alt with a function key, how would that work with this layout? Once you hold both shoulders to get Ctrl+Alt, you have no way to access the Function keys. My own concern would be how you get a Cap Lock on this keyboard? Also...

    3g/umts Connectivity

From a modder's standpoint, I can see how this would be attractive. But think about the intent of the Pandora. On a device that is designed to be portable, perhaps even pocketable, this would increase the size on the chance you need to have always-connected USB peripherals. To some extent...

    Decent Fps

Shogo did come out for Linux, but also closed source. Hyperion did the port -- for both intel and PPC CPUs... they also did the Amiga port, so they don't seem to mind niche markets... Wonder if they could be talked into doing a Pandora port? May have to write to them. jam P.S. I just...

    Non-gaming Apps

Bean is a nice, lean, open source word processor. I use it because it is not overloaded with features and toolbars I don't need. Unfortunately, I think it depends on OS X for the built-in dictionary and some other cocoa infrastructure, so even though it is open source, I don't think it would...
