Any Actual Os's Ported To The Gp2x?

The GP2X has an 'Actual' OS. The GP2x runs a version of linux with an 'Actual' GUI. Thats right! No text based command prompts here :P For the record an OS is not a GUI. And when you say 'Actual' OS i think you mean 'Desktop' OS. As an OS is just a layer between software and hardware, even...

    Odonata Playable Demo Release!!

Im not much into this type of game, so for the record i wouldn't have bought it anyway. However, i think it is cool. Despite the low colour backgrounds, i liked it how there was more going on than one ship fighting through enemies. I had the impression that the game was 3D, its hard to tell...

Gp2x Demo Competition: 750$ prize money

I tried all of the demos i could ( i only have about 4mb free on my SD, i really need a new one). They were all pretty cool! Coming from someone who was still unsure if the GP2x could handle much 3d i was amazed (and encouraged) at some of the stuff done. I don't think i will release the code...

Gp2x Demo Competition: 750$ prize money

Heh, so am i. I'd like to see what people come up with, it looks like most of the demos are last-minute. Mine is small, its mostly just the 3d renderer im developing with some added effects (some good, some useless, but all pretty :P ). Hopefully it wins a prize, but im happy to have...

Gp2x Demo Competition: 750$ prize money

Hmm, well its still good i got rid of it. SDL is great but i needed the speed of doing it myself. Did you get my entry? I sent it yesterday (well, about 10-11 hours ago). -Twixn-

Gp2x Demo Competition: 750$ prize money

I think i was lucky, i didn't use much SDL so it was easy to replace (took me about 10 minutes). But anyway, Good luck to everyone who entered! Now...time to start working on my game :P -Twixn-

Gp2x Demo Competition: 750$ prize money

Ok, after reading this entire thread (as well as gp2xdemo.com), i think i need some clarification: My demo gpe is below 64k. And it runs on a stock GP2X with firmware 2.0.0 , bought online about 2 weeks ago without any added files. ie, I haven't touched the NAND and the demo can run if it is...

Gp2x Demo Competition: 750$ prize money

Thats cool, my demo has been in dev only 2 weeks. All i have is a rotating cube, i just tried to pile on the special effects. EDIT: I tried your little demo, thats awesome, i didn't realize you had some physics/collision stuff in it. There is no 4k category, but there is a 64k category so you...

    GP2X My 3d Renderer (wip)

Ok, i'll set up a timer then. What i'll do is cycle through each texture, giving each about 3-4 seconds in the limelight. And whenever the 'Texture Cycle' loops back to the first texture i will go to the next effect. Simple enough, the only user interaction is X to take a screenshot, and START...

    GP2X My 3d Renderer (wip)

Thanks :D its progressed quite abit (im working overtime, only one week left). Although i do have a question, i know its supposed to be a non-interactive demo, or at least minimal-interactive. Whats the minimum? I mean, should i set a timer to switch between rendermodes/Textures etc? Or can i...

    GP2X My 3d Renderer (wip)

Well, i know it runs on a stock 2.0.0, so it should be fine. I'll have to work on some content for it, something better than just a cube. Scratch that, im sticking with the cube, lets just see how many special effects i can fit in 64k :P Put the GP2X to some serious work!! Thanks again for...

    GP2X My 3d Renderer (wip)

Yeah, i use SDL. Thanks for that :D Here is a picture of the solid fill rendering: And one of the texture mapping (notice the lines on the texture, they are 'bent'). Well no, but i will take a look into it now! Only a few days left so i'll try to add what i can. Looks like i may have...

    GP2X My 3d Renderer (wip)

Thats right. Its not that bad, the PSX managed to get away with it :P I plan to keep it (its excellent for sprites/billboards etc), but i plan to add 'non-affine' soon, or at least 'near' 'non-affine'. Thanks :D -Twixn-

    GP2X My 3d Renderer (wip)

Hey all, For the past week (the time i have had my GP2X) i have been developing a 3D software renderer for it. I think its coming along nicely, and i'd like to show off what i have so far. Its fairly simple ATM, only 2 render modes (solid colour and texture mapped). Sorry i have no...

    I Just Got My Gp2x!!!

Well, Im not desperate enough to play with the NAND, for my dev needs 8mb is more than enough. I just have to settle with it till i get a larger one. -Twixn-

    I Just Got My Gp2x!!!

Mine arrived in the mail 2 days ago. Been waiting nearly 2 weeks for it :D My main problem is that i only managed to scrounge up an 8mb SD disk, so i'll have to pick up a 1gb at some point. Unable to fit any games on the 8mb disk, only a SNES emu and 2 games. The day after i got it i started...

    Fpu Replacement/integer Math

Unfortunately it does overflow the integer type (16.16), so i have to do fixed point multiplications for each component in the sqrt. But thanks, i wasn't sure how different fixed point sqrt was from integer sqrt. Now i know it just needs '>>8' on the end. Anyway, thanks everyone for your help...
