I've had a similar problem with an old desktop of mine, and I went through the most convoluted meathod to install Linux on it.
Requirements:
Another computer with a very large hard drive.
Network connection between the two.
Internet.
Patience. (Copying a hard drive takes many hours.)...
Getting close. I'm excited to get my Batch 2 one. I'd upgrade to an instant one, but I'm out of money. I'd get a refund and buy a faster tablet, but I'm too stubborn. For now, I'm sticking here.
