    MP3 Bitrate question?

Finished listening to the songs. Only one of them had a problem, and it was one of the 128k songs. It crashed the GP32 at the end of the song (controls are unresponsive, have to turn it off to get it to do anything). the three 192k songs all played fine.

    MP3 Bitrate question?

This has been a common rumor. The GP32 will play other bitrates. I havn't done a comprehensive test, but I know that 160kb/s works, and 256kb/s seems to usually work. I've got a couple 192k songs on there now, I'll listen to them at work and let you know. Some songs (I'm not sure what...

    C64 / SNES emu Questions

Yes, there is an option to turn off the sound in SNES9xGP, and it does speed things up significantly. However, some games are still too slow. I don't recall seeing a place for .ips patches in the emulator, so you'll have to patch the files manually on your PC before playing them.

    mp3 player

Use the joystick during playback to change the output settings. Unfortunately playback on GPFM is just a tad slower than it should be. This added to the fact that I carry the GP32 around in my pocket and always change the sound settings with the joystick accidentally means that I'm back to the...

    GP32 GCC under WinXP?

I have yet to try any GP32 code yet (too busy, but the time will come someday) but I can help you with your problem. In WinXP (and 2000 I believe) environment variables (such as PATH) can be changed at the following location: Control panel System Advanced tab Environment Variables (a button...

    Screen scratching

Nope, cat sold separately. Just to be sure there's no misunderstanding, I'm not selling the case at all, just showing an idea for adapting the case to the GP32.

    Getting gp32 soon!

Yes, once you're running wind-ups you don't need to load things through the freelauncher. However, wind-ups itself is run with the freelauncher. You can get around this by using one of the custom bios images floating around. Use caution, however...some people have fried their GP32s doing...

    Screen scratching

The GP32 does come with a sheet of vinyl to protect the screen. However, it will get worn over time. You can buy vinyl very very cheaply (less than $1 for enough to cover the screen at least 8 times, maybe more). Try Wal-Mart if you're in the US or a fabric store anywhere. There are also...

    Various Questions about GP32

Hey, 1. Can't answer this one, I havn't tried any movies yet. Keep in mind there are at least 3 video players that I know of. One is an alpha/beta version still in development, one is a demo, and one is a commercial product. 2. Depends on which emulator. TG16, C64, SMS/GG emulators run...

Best game to *show off* gp32?

Showing all the emulators and ports can be impressive, but if you're looking for a native GP32 game to show off, Her Knights is a nice one.

    Acording to my caculation

I run mine from a 3v, 1000mA adapter, and it's fine. Those of you having problems should consider finding an adapter that is filtered and regulated (they are sometimes called different things) Filtered means that "noise" in the line is filtered out. Regulated means that the power going to the...

    Suggestions for next version

Well, since this is the GPengine section of the boards, I figured I didn't have to specify. :P Yes, I currently have mine in subdirectories under the /gpmm/gpengine directory (S1, S2, S3, T1, T2, T3...I found that about 15 roms per directory gives a reasonable load time, so I had to split up...

    Rare Gems

Unfortunately, several of my favorite nes games don't want to work on the nes emulator. River City Ransom is one of those games. Solar Jetman, Super DodgeBall and Crystalis are three others that don't work. Of course, it could just be my particular copies of the roms, but they do all work on...

    Suggestions for next version

For the next version, you might consider loading up only a screen-worth of titles from the card, then loading again when the user moves down. If I fill up my 128 mb card with .pce files, it pretty much locks up reading them. Even with 15-20 files in a directory, it can take a little too long...

    Gp32 ~ current Capabilites

GPEngine will take roms in either .pce format or as a zip file with the .pce file inside the zip. GB Emulator takes files in .gb or .gbc formats, I think. SMS emulator takes .sms format or .ggg format (.gg format is the same, just rename it to have the extra G on the end. You might get it to...

    GP32 Star Control 2 for GP32

Star Control 2 was never released for the Genesis as far as I know. Star Control 1 was, but it wasn't quite as good as the first (though I did miss the strategy mode in the second one). The point is that it is an excellent game. Probably my all time favorite, and probably the game that's...

    IDE

Metapad is a nice general text editor. No size limit, saves in unix or windows formats (maybe mac too, I cant' remember), some extra functionality, but still really small and fast.
