    Using Arcade Controls Via Ext-port

yeah, the easiest way without programming knowledge would be to remove the mini ipac and just hack your joystick/buttons to a cheapo usb joypad. Save the ipac for a full-fledged MAME cabinet ;) good reference links: http://www.byoac.com http://wiki.arcadecontrols.com/wiki/Main_Page

    Attempting My D-pad Mod

still haven't gotten my other computer up yet with the pics on it, but I DID replace my contact board with the one from the gamecube controller. I got it all hooked up and back together (after losing the damn power button for 20 minutes!) when everything but the left button works great. I take...

    Attempting My D-pad Mod

yeah, if I can't get it working on my own, that'd be the best bet. But I think I'll be able to squash this and still have a + dpad.....eventually  anyway, thanks for the advice! :)

    Attempting My D-pad Mod

yeah, I dont know what I was thinking about the dpad rocker, of course you need it. lol I used just a quick dab of superglue in 3 spots to hold the membrane down. I don't think that'd cause an issue. yes, the surface is clean enough there should be plenty of wiggle room for the dpad, I can...

    Arcade Style Controller. Any Recommendations?

I actually agree with you, when doing my cab, I was trying to do it cheaply. I bought the joysticks & buttons combo from x-arcade. It was cheap, only about $20.00 for 2 joysticks and around 12-14 buttons (can't remember) But the quality was comparable to the price - cheap. They would miss...

How Would I Hook A Flash Drive To The Gp2x?

I'm pretty sure that's the reason...

    Attempting My D-pad Mod

do you think it needs that rocker part of the pad? I removed about 1/4 of it already. I'm just afraid of ruining it and having to cut a bigger hole for a NES d-pad (instead of the gameboy pocket one I'm trying to use now) The whole height of the assembly isn't that large. It's just a piece...

    Attempting My D-pad Mod

grr... no matter what I do, whenever I close the case up, it doesn't pass the control test. But when it's open it works perfectly. The only thing I can think of is to cut up yet another circuit board, this time smaller, and resolder it in. I hate being stuck at 99% done and having to start...

    Arcade Style Controller. Any Recommendations?

Before I built my MAME cabinet, I bought an old Playstation arcade stick at a pawn shop for $5.00 and a PSX-to-USB controller adapter at Radio Shack for $15.00. It can be done cheaply, but it's gonna take a little shopping around.

    Attempting My D-pad Mod

ok, I'm so close, but I'm stuck! I'm using the button tester under system settings and when I have the case closed, it gets stuck at the beginning and won't register l+r, but when I open the case and test it all opened, it works perfectly. More testing to do still...sigh... well, at least...

    Attempting My D-pad Mod

ok, i have pics of the work done. I had a friend come over with a camera. Since he's left, I've finished the job (so I thought) by gluing the membrane onto the contact board and putting the case back together. I have to say, after doing this mod, the hardest thing is putting the damn case...

    Attempting My D-pad Mod

Well, good and not so good, I have the case chopped, the wires soldered, and everything tests ok. But I kinda mangled the case a little... I have to buy a new screen protector and probably paint the gp2x case now, but it'll be worth it in the end... I just have to go buy some hot glue to keep...

    Attempting My D-pad Mod

ok, I found my digital camera, so I should be able to take (crappy) pics. I've got to pick up a few things tomorrow morning and run a few errands, but I'll get to it after that. I'm going to follow Nik166 here His ideas are very close to what I was thinking, and he's taken many pictures and...

    Attempting My D-pad Mod

well, I could wait, but after shipping to and from germany, plus not having my gp2x for a couple weeks, I think I'll try it on my own. It can't be that hard, I've fixed my headphone jack in my 2x, installed an afterburner front light in an old-school GBA, plus modded many xboxes and built...
