Not to spoil too much, but don't let the first episode turn you off from the rest. The second was genius!
I have no idea why they're so unbalanced... looking forward to the third to see if there's any resolution.
There's several of us very keen to see MythTV's frontend become a reality on the Pandora. I've got it working on my wife's EEE and it's a wonderful portable television set and media centre (especially when supported by a powerful MythTV backend and file server running somewhere else in the house)
To be honest my health has tanked in the past 2 months and I've not been able to work on the project at all. I'm still hoping to work on it again when I get a bit better.
There was someone working on an OSX binary, and actually got it working... but it was compiled statically.. I got some flak...
Wifi would probably be far superior to a USB connection... however I don't expect that peer to peer connectivity would be available on day 1.
*Someone* will likely get around to developing this. If they did the devs might get around to developing such peer to peer games.
I've been assuming...
Just a warning... I've heard that the hinge for the Pandora is identical to the one for the Nintendo DS.
My 8 year old wanders around with her DS this way, holding it by the case and letting the screen bounce about as she walks. (8 year olds do have a tendency to run around the house a bit)...
I found LazyFoo's SDL tutorials a nice place to start (just google for them). Sure it's only 2D, but the documentation is pretty good. Programming something simple will get those skills unrusty enough to try something more complex second.
Codeblocks has also been working for me as an IDE, but...
I'm guessing it allows you to place telephone calls over wireless internet using the onboard microphone and speakers, *if* you have a Vonage account and *if* you're subscribed to the Vonage Talk feature.
I missed this forum. I actually own this controller, and use it for my Linux MythTV/MythGame HTPC. It's a sweet device, and works perfectly under Linux. I have no doubts it will work great for Pandora.
My only complaint is that it has a moderately flimy wire contraption for the batteries...
I have an F200. The gaming controls are fine. I've heard some complaints from NeoGeo fans that spinning circular d-pad moves are difficult to pull off. If you're not a NeoGeo god, the F200's controls are good.
Another +1 to the Wifi request. I know it's a PITA to set up, but it would be nice to see a good signal strength from the antenna inside that little box.
Apart from that would be gaming controls and keypad. We've already seen enough youtube demons to know what the hardware is capable of...
Indeed.
Anyone who missed out on that google tech talk should probably go read this thread and check out the video link:

It's probably mandatory viewing for anyone who wants to continue to contribute to this flame war...
Stars are objects, held in the Star class in Star.cc
There's already a method to scan stars in sectors... lemme check It's in Star.cc called surveyStars... I left the code in there because it's handy to scan the whole galaxy for weirdness... You can tweak it to do what you need to. It takes...
I have found 3 types of lucky starts.
1) Start in a very dense place.
2) Start close to the artifact (as you mentioned)
3) Pickup a $$$ artifact in the first few minutes, or "I got a good break finding stuff". (this one. wow. one time i picked up 2 different $$$ within the first 3 minutes.)...
