Ugh, even more frustrating, when I try to compile all the libSDL libs from scratch into /usr/local/lib, and then run my game against them, I get a segmentation fault:
trevor@pergamon:~/Projects/GalacticArtifact/trunk$ export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib/...
They're both version 1.2.13 though, which has confused the heck out of me.
I might just give up, do the evil Slackware thing and just replace the local .so file.. would be nice to know I'm not doing anything stupid as a coder though...
I'm wondering if some clever folk might be able to help me out with a Linux library issue I've been having.
The last time I was developing GA, I was working on a Slackware Linux system. Pretty much everything had to be installed by hand. The libs included in the libs/Linux directory of the...
The website for the game is at http://games.randomlynx.net/
RealLife(tm) would be better if there were more health potions and the boss monsters weren't so bad.
EDIT: The TODO list is in the game manual near the end ("Release D and beyond").. both on the website and distributed with the game.
Just to let you guys know a project forum for Galactic Artifact has been created over at openhandhelds.org and that I'll be moving all future testing, pre-releases, and feedback to that forum.
It's a full forum devoted to the game, so we'll be able to create as many threads as are needed.
See...
Hey guys, just to let you know we're moving discussion about Galactic Artifact here.
I know some people might be concerned about the long break after the last week. Lots of RealLife(tm) things have been going on, and it's still going to be at least several more weeks before I can pick this up...
It looks as if the topics are still moving around a bit. I'm not starting up again tomorrow, so I'm in no grand rush and am happy to wait a week or two for things to settle down.
A second active mirror probably isn't necessary (I'm happy with a 24h outage as long as a good sysadmin is on the case), but it would be best if the website didn't have a "bus number" of 1.
If there is a desire to rip the website, let's try to do it in a co-ordinated fashion. I fear a dozen users whipping out wget and doing an entire site rip and hurting the site.
All the more reason to have a really good FAQ, 164 pointers to that FAQ, and perhaps some sort of "Ellis Island" where newbies can ask the same question 18 times. I know it sounds dumb, but I think it's the nature of the community (experienced and new) and we need to cater to it.
It's about...
Not having access to the DB is deadly. It reaffirms the argument that it's time to move on.
Ugh, what an ugly mess.. I guess cherry picking critical data to a wiki might be the best option.
Yes, yes, and yes. The assessment of the state of gp32x.de is correct, and the choice to transition now, rather than before the next outage is the correct one. This is the right decision.
Might I make a suggestion.. perhaps a user driven project for the masses here, that we actually attempt...
I cannot agree with this more... NCIX is an excellent store here in Vancouver. I just drove over to NCIX Langley this morning to pick up a 24" Samsung LCD monitor. It's about a 10-15 minute drive from my house. :) :) :)
I also picked up a 16GB Kingston SD card for $25CAD (after $10 mail in...
I made a similar plea many months back, suggesting that many of the users who come here are new and that it's just a reality that many many people are going to ask questions that have been answered over and over again, moreso for Pandora than for other products. I asserted at the time the...
