My estimate is based on my experience of the gp32. I bought my gp32 for xmas 2003. It is now 2005 and two of the best emulators have only recently appeared. (I am referring to gpmame and drmd(sega genesis emulator)).
Bear in mind that if you wait for the GPx2, you will have to wait longer for software to run on this platform. GPx2 will not run gp32 software, so it will take time for many of the homebrew devs to port their work. Some software currently available for the gp32 may never make it onto the GPx2...
As Gamepark holdings have stated that the GPX2 will not be compatible with the gp32, maybe all of these gpx2 threads should be bundled under "other consoles"..
The threads that you mention appear to contain badly translated specs and do not seem to contain any facts.. So I created this thread for people to use who definitely know something and are not just speculating..
I'll second this. I normally love save states. I hate PC games like "Brothers In Arms" that don't use save states. But when it comes to MAME, introducing save states would spoil that retro feel. We never had save states in the Arcade and we don't need 'em now..
Thought I would start up a new topic, as things were a bit slow on the boards..
so..
Galaxian
Frogger
Pacman
Masao (Japanese version of Mario Bros.. Runs faster that Mario Bros.)

And I will strike down with great vengence and furious anger, those who would bad mouth my gp32, and you will know that I am a gp32 user, when I lay my vengence upon you!!
I think what we have at the moment is awesome. The only thing that I would like to see added is vector support for games like Star Wars. But even without this, gpMAME still ROCKS..
I think that in order to do this Franxis would have to switch to a later copy of the MAME source. I believe that doing so would probably mean that MAME would run slower on the gp32. Besides which there is still plenty to do porting MAME 0.34 to the gp32. Vector game support for example..
There are several versions of Qix that are playable on gpMame. All of these are quite good. My favourite all time Qix port has to be the Arcade game "Miss World '96". Qix and Naked chicks. Qix at its best!!
:-)
So have you seen it yet? Is it any good?
