Two unlikely possibilities :
It is being updated
It has been brought down by the high volume of people clamouring to donate.
It is not very clear. Are remakes accepted ? (Clone is such a devaluing term for the work involved). The rules suggest the entries have to be original but Guyfawkes...
There seems to be a general trend where devs are being told to do this or that. They must conform to standards, they must be matched up with designers, artists and musicians (like they are some commodity). They should be making 'fun' homebrew even though we know most people are not interested...
Way to pour cold water on Atari's enthusiasm for the gp2x and devving for it. This thread says clearly that if you have not got anything to give us we don't care.
This forum is for a device you and I can dev for so lets talk about cats in fridges and the merits of the word 'niggardly' rather...
Devs get little enough feedback. I think letting Dzz know his work is appreciated qualifies as a good reason. What happened to him - have not seen on the boards for a while ? Not enough feedback maybe ?
I have the Head over Heels Pc remake (and Atic Atac). Awsome. Double our screen res tho'.
Thanks for the sprite ripping tip. Due to a natural flair for idleness I was hoping someone had already made them available, but it is good to know I can do it myself (if I have to). It might be fun just...
Thats cool. If you can take a picture of it with all the images lit up (I think if you press reset they all turn on) then I could make a start. But I would still need to play it to do it any justice. If the windows remake does not become available I guess I could get one off e-bay.
I would like to see Head over Heels too. :) It has some 300 rooms as opposed to around 128 so it would be a much bigger job. Has anyone come across the sprites for it ?
I am going to see if I can knock together something that will generate an isometric, room by room play area. If I succeed it...
Welcome to the board.
Thank you very much for the information. This has been my only attempt at a GP2X game and is a rather simple little game. The Knight Lore comment was a joke - although I would love to give it a go. I think it may be a little beyond my abilities.
Perhaps I should hold a...
The archive now shows it as the final version. It even has the mono/colour screenshots.
Thanks EvilDragon.
Thank you all for your kindly remarks. It is funny how a comment like 'This will stay on my SD, thanks for the game!' makes all the frustrations and grief of creating the damn thing melt...
Yes - that is the final release. If it has the icon (fire.png), high score table and has the 'demo' mode you have it.
The confusion is because the information on the page still shows the previous version. I must have done something wrong as it is still showing the old info but the file and...
FIRE - Final release now available * FREE*
1 building, 1 mission, some little stick figures and an ambulance - which has a light.
It's taken about a month but finally the full game is here, an exclusive & updated version of Fire has arrived on the GP2X.
The Nintendo Game & Watch smash hit...

How has it taken a month to put this simple little thing together !?
It is finished in my opinion and will be available soon. I have spent the last couple of days testing it. The locking up on exit issue has gone since removing the clock speed code calls. That is a big mystery to me still - why...
Have you also reinstalled the tool chain ? If it is working fine for Windows then it is not down to Dev-c++ but the different compiler/linker setup.
I initially installed Dev-C++ but I gave Codeblocks a go and will never go back. I suggest you follow the wiki instructions on installing...
I have had a go with these functions but the results are the same. The code is using exactly the same values I had before so that is no surprise.
This has wasted so much time.
I have found this thread where jrd had exactly this same issues, but using rlyeh's mini lib. Unfortunately there is no...
Thanks Daid. Without the dodgy method of clock setting the problem seems to have gone away.
I have not had a chance to try this yet but will give it a go as soon as I get a chance.
This needs to be put in the wiki as the current entry is incomplete and virtually useless to someone like me...
