Well, to me it felt a lot more crisp and responsive than my first edition model. Playing some of the pixel perfect games under frodo was much better. And it didn't seem to have such a large deadspot. Of course this is all subjective. :D
WTF - my headphone socket just dissappeared into my GP2X.
My personal jukebox now rattles as well as playing MP3's. :)
Should I send it back or fix it myself - It's a first edition so I don't particularly want to send it back and get a later version back. Anybody got any experiences of...
Even better still... connect it to a projector a show it on the side of your house :)
The fresnel lens is a good idea though - especialy when/if the keypad comes out.
awww crap. I'll be without my GP2X for christmas - life is just not fair.
An I just got neogeo working. :)
Any idea when we'll get official notice from the UK side of things ?
LABVIEW's great for knocking up quick'n'dirty data acquistition apps once you know what your at.
I was thinking along the same lines when I saw the Serial cables - would make great personal data collectors at work - especialy if someone could get a SD/WIFI card going.
Wouldn't even need...
Sounds like a job for 'Raw Assembler Man'.
Seriously though - if the memory can't be acessed at the same time how does the 2nd processor become usefull ?? Does it have an onboard cache ??
It would be interesting to collate a list of GP2X's by serial number and the faults that they incur after firmware updates.
Their aren't a whole lot of replies to this thread so either not many people have found this problem since the upgrade or not many people have upgraded.
If other people...
0. A suspend/resume multi key press option ( that on/off is gonna go tit's up quickly )
1. Getting rid of the scanlines since 1.01
2. Better video support
3. Better battery life.
4. Being able to click on a file in the browser and open it in the required app.
I'm no GP2x guru - but whilst the graphics processor is not 3d this does not preclude 3d games/apps - It's just that the processor doesn't have built in 3d routines.
I may wll be wrong ( replace may with probably )
I've upgraded to 1.01 and now the left and right bands on the screen have gone. But I got the 'scan' line issue now - so I guess this is a firmware thing and not a returns thing ??
Just Uprgaded the firmware :
Used PNY 256mb SD card from dixons (£19 - I know, but I was in a hurry )
Formatted card to FAT 32 using windows XP - external card reader ( iBuddy )
Followed the above instructions - all worked okay.
