    Let's talk colors!

White and aluminium grey are now synonyms of "life and colours" ?

    English ... Don't ignore the "s". It's quite important.

What WM/DE will Pyra OS use?

I'm just wondering. How is the display controller wired? Is it accessible while turning of the GPU? Anyway, shouldn't it be (technically) possible to design a compositor which suits the Pyras needs or is there a technical limitation of the Wayland protocol?

    Gamecube emulation on Pyra?

I have a certain opinion about Java, but I think that a lot of people would agree with me here. No, no, no. Java is slower than a lot of things. I think the only things slower than Java might be certain Lisp-implementations. The last commit will soon be 6 years old. PCSX2 improved a lot in those...

Mediatek Helio X20 - Deca Core processor with 3 cluster design

The only problem would be that Mediatek usually only supports Android. Read: They either publish a binary blob or their source tree is full of binary blobs. And I doubt they take orders under 100.000.

The question would be "Which polycarbonate ?".

    Gamecube emulation on Pyra?

PCSX2 will, as far as I know, not run on the Pyra for the following reasons: PCSX2 contains endless amounts of x86 assembly. No one wants the write ARM assembly to replace that. The Pyra probably doesn't have enough power to run many (read: probably most you will want to run) PS2 games. The PS2...

    Let's talk colors!

This thread is probably getting very long and endless. We should just save everyones time and not pick a colour. Black isn't a colour ;) More seriously: I think that black would be a good idea (it just looks good) and since this darkish red is more or less the official Pyra-colour, I think it...

    Some questions about the Pyra

@ingoreis: First of all, the "Pyra OS" is just Debian with a patched kernel mostly. Next, as far as I know, ED never stated that Exagear would be available. There were however people here who tested stuff with Exagear and people who talked about using Exagear to run stuff, but that's all.

Well, copying data on a hard drive isn't that different.

    Pyra as a Phone

As long as people don't want the electromagnetic interaction removed ... @TrashyMG: Is it like the Raspberry Pi, where the encoding is hardwired or how does it work ?

    Pyra as a Phone

Is there any way to treat accelerated video input on the OMAP SoC anyway ?

Current open source status of SGX544-MP2?

As far as I know, the driver by itself should be open source. Linux is quite monolithic, thus you need to actually add to code to the source tree. The blob is "only" the openGL implementation (which talks with the open source driver). The other problem would be that the implementation of the...

    Experiment

Well, first of all, it looks like this board needs a (relatively) huge heat-sink. Thus, you (most probably) won't be able to put it inside anything of the size of a Pandora/Pyra.

    Devuan, anyone?

Wow, in this one specific case the default sysvinit configuration would have been better than the default systemd configuration.

    Devuan, anyone?

Well, this is a quite optimistic point of view. Having the safest possible default, not trying to boot in an unknown state, seems, at least for me, the sanest thing to do. If somebody wants to do something less safe, he may configure it, but he should state that.

    Devuan, anyone?

@Neelix: I think that writing a fstab-entry is one of the most obvious ways to say "I need this drive".

    Devuan, anyone?

Not really. Let's suppose a mount fails. What should happen next ? Obviously, if / (or /bin, /usr, /home) doesn't mount, the answer is quite easy, most of the time. However, let us suppose /thing/weird/dir doesn't mount, what should happen ? Maybe something in /etc requires something there, so...

how oldschool graphics work - save RAM - color tricks

I suppose rendering stuff, but yeah, I'm pretty sure that the next CoD would sell well, if it had a 1bpp graphics output (less than 256kB VRAM in HD!) ... Moreover, I can't see, how you could apply those "old virtues" to the graphics pipeline.
